Shaping the post-pandemic recovery plan
British Journal of Nursing, 2021Our teams are at the core of the NHS, but if we are to rebuild our services, we must first focus on the wellbeing of our staff, providing them with a space to heal, says Sam Foster, Chief Nurse, Oxford University Hospitals

Ductile Shape-Memory Polymer Composite with Enhanced Shape Recovery Ability
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2020In recent years, shape-memory polymers (SMPs) have received extensive attention to be used as actuators in a broad range of applications such as medical and robotic devices. Their ability to recover large deformations and their capability to be stimulated remotely have made SMPs a superior choice among different smart materials in various applications.

Efficient Recovery of Shape from Texture
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1983Witkin proposed a maximum likelihood model for the recovery of surface orientation from image texture. We develop two efficient algorithms for solving this shape from texture problem and compare the results of these algorithms with the algorithm described in [1].

Investigation on Effectiveness and Shape Recovery Ratio of Shape Recovery Self-Healing Plastic
Key Engineering Materials, 2019Shape recovery fiber reinforced self-healing plastic which achieves full strength recovery is developed. In this system, microcapsules containing dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) as healing agent are dispersed in epoxy resin matrix. Moreover, thermal shrinkage fibers coated by weak interlayer with Grubbs catalysts are uniaxially oriented.

A Shape Memory Polymer with Improved Shape Recovery
MRS Proceedings, 2004ABSTRACTThermally actuated shape memory polymers (SMPs) interest, both academically and industrially, due to their ability to memorize a permanent shape that is set during processing and a temporary shape that is later programmed by manipulation above a critical temperature, either Tg or Tm.

Shape Recovery Using HDR Images
Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualisation (CGIV 2007), 2007In this paper, an effective method for shape recovery using HDRI (high dynamic range images) is proposed. Firstly, an accurate reflectance map for a reference sphere relating its radiance values and corresponding normals is established, then the set of candidate normals of each target point comprising the same material are found by comparing its ...

Shape Recovery from Turntable Image Sequence
2007This paper makes use of both feature points and silhouettes to deliver fast 3D shape recovery from a turntable image sequence. The algorithm exploits object silhouettes in two views to establish a 3D rim curve, which is defined with respect to the two frontier points arising from two views.

Shape recovery of anisotropic metal surfaces
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2009A method to recover the shape of metallic surfaces that have a directional microstructure is demonstrated. A simple model that shows how surface radiance varies with the azimuth of the light source is described and verified on real surfaces. The model predicts that if a light source is revolved around a flat facet then two peaks in radiance will be ...
