Shape Coexistence in Odd-Z Isotopes from Fluorine to Potassium

open access: yesParticles
The shape of a nucleus is one of its fundamental properties. We conduct a systematic investigation of shape coexistence in odd-Z nuclei from fluorine to potassium using the deformed relativistic Hartree–Bogoliubov theory in continuum. First, we present a

Effect of rotating speed and stiffeners on natural frequency of composite shell [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2011
The effect of rotating speed and stiffeners on vibrations for composite rotors is investigated using Sander's shell theory. The frequency equation is derived implementing the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure based on energy method.

Localization of the Chain Recurrent set using Shape theory and Symbolical Dynamics

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2019
The main aim of this paper is localization of the chain recurrent set in shape theoretical framework. Namely, using the intrinsic approach to shape from [1] we present a result which claims that under certain conditions the chain recurrent set preserves ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Extension Shape Theory

open access: yesKyungpook mathematical journal, 2000
We develop a theory of P-shape for the class of compact Hausdorff spaces and for certain CW-complexes P. The complexes P which are allowed are those which, for each given weight α , admit a P- invertible map of a compact Hausdorff space of weight ≤ α and of extension dimension ≤ P onto the Tychonoff cube I α .

PREDICTION OF THE EXTREMAL SHAPE FACTOR OF SPHEROIDAL PARTICLES

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
In the stereological unfolding problem for spheroidal particles the extremal shape factor is predicted. The theory of extreme values has been used to show that extremes of the planar shape factor of particle sections tend to the same limit distribution ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Body shape concerns and behavioral intentions on eating disorders: a cross-sectional study of Chinese female university students using an extended theory of reasoned action model

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackgroundWeight and body shape concerns have become increasingly common among adolescents. Chinese university students show a high risk of eating disorder behaviors.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Borsuk's shape teory

open access: yesTopological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis, 1993
Historical survey of Borsuk's contribution to ordinary shape theory, including the achievements of other people in this field. Ordinary shape is some kind of Čech homotopy theory whose relationship to Čech homology is the same as that of ordinary homotopy theory to singular homology.
