Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

Coating‐Free Nanoscratching for Liquid‐Crystal Alignment on PCB‐Compatible Millimeter‐Wave Reflective Unit Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Direct nanoscratching with a 500 nm diamond lapping film creates groove‐guided liquid‐crystal alignment interfaces on PCB‐compatible Cu‐patterned RF substrates within minutes, eliminating polymer coating and high‐temperature baking. The coating‐free process enables optical/molecular alignment validation and voltage‐programmable 28 GHz reflection‐phase ...

Cognitive Integration for Hybrid Collective Agency

open access: yesPhilosophies
Can human–machine hybrid systems (HMHs) constitute genuine collective agents? This paper defends an affirmative answer. I argue that HMHs achieve collective intentionality without shared consciousness by satisfying the following three functional criteria:

Shared Agency: Replies to Ludwig, Pacherie, Petersson, Roth, and Smith

open access: yesJournal of Social Ontology, 2015
These are replies to the discussions by Kirk Ludwig, Elizabeth Pacherie, Björn Petersson, Abraham Roth, and Thomas Smith of Michael E. Bratman, Shared Agency: A Planning Theory of Acting Together (Oxford University Press, 2014).

Comparing the imitative skills of children and nonhuman apes

open access: yesRevue de Primatologie, 2009
We propose a framework which breaks down the mechanisms of social learning into their four constituent elements: actions, results, goals, and context. We review what is known about the use of each of these elements in children’s and apes’ social learning,

Unveiling the Hidden Geometry of OECTs: Contact‐Semiconductor Overlap Driven Errors in Volumetric Capacitance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work examines how contact–semiconductor overlap influences volumetric capacitance extraction in organic electrochemical transistors as device dimensions shrink. It shows that neglecting overlap leads to systematic, geometry‐driven errors in capacitance values.
