Production sharing and real business cycles in a small open economy [PDF]

open access: yes
Production sharing and vertical specialization account for a significant share of trade between developed and developing countries. The Mexican maquiladora industry provides an ideal example of production sharing in a small open economy.

Advanced Separators for Liquid and Quasi‐Solid Lithium Rechargeable Batteries: Design and Development

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review traces the evolution of lithium‐ion battery separators from passive barriers to multifunctional components central to cell safety and performance. Polymer‐ceramic hybrids, nanofiber architectures, and bio‐derived membranes deliver ionic conductivities above 3 mS cm−1, thermal stability beyond 200 °C, and effective suppression of lithium ...

Impacts of emission reduction policies in a multi-regional multi-sectoral small open economy with endogenous growth [PDF]

open access: yes
The burden sharing of pollution abatement costs raises the issue of how to share the costs between entities (country, region or industry) and how the pollution permits should be distributed between the parties involved.

Risk sharing: private insurance markets or redistributive taxes? [PDF]

open access: yes
We explore the welfare consequences of different taxation schemes in an economy where agents are debt-constrained. If agents default on their debt, they are banned from future credit markets, but retain their private endowments which are subject to ...

Earning Income in the Sharing/On-Demand Economy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Until 2015, we knew very little about the work and workers in the sharing/on-demand economy. Indeed, the last official government survey of the broader contingent workforce was conducted in 2005 -- long before most of these new platforms or apps even ...

The sharing economy

open access: yesÖkologisches Wirtschaften - Fachzeitschrift, 2016
In the so-called sharing economy items are shared, borrowed, exchanged or passed on after use. Scientifically based findings about the usersof consumption and business models of this kind are rare. The aim of this article is to add to the available knowledge about the relevance and scope of the sharing economy in Germany.

Composition Restoration Enables Recycling of Mixed‐Cation, Mixed‐Halide Perovskites for Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Compositional drift during processing prevents the direct recycling of mixed‐cation, mixed‐halide perovskites. This work introduces a framework to quantitatively audit and restore recovered materials, enabling closed‐loop recycling with efficiencies comparable to virgin perovskites.

Closed‐loop Recycling of Sulfide Solid Electrolytes from Spent Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Closed‐loop recycling of sulfide solid electrolyte via a mild dissolution–recrystallization–thermal treatment process enables efficient recovery from spent all‐solid‐state sodium batteries. The regenerated material preserves the crystal structure, local coordination, and chemical states, maintaining high ionic conductivity, reduced interfacial ...

A Theory of Efficiency Wage with Multiple Unemployment Equilibria: How a Higher Minimum Wage Law Can Curb Unemployment [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses efficiency wage theory and the existence of community-based sharing to hypothesize that labor markets in developing countries have multiple equilibria – the same economy can be stuck at different levels of unemployment with different ...
