Examining the Impact of Acute Exercise and Arousal Reappraisal on Stressor‐Evoked Psychological and Cardiovascular Responses

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Extreme stressor‐evoked psychophysiological responses are associated with adverse health outcomes. The present study examined the individual and combined influence of exercise and arousal reappraisal on stressor‐evoked psychophysiological responses.

Isoanemeity Predicts the Effect of Leaf Versus Stem Flexure on Plant Drag

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Flexible vegetation is deflected by fluid flow, reducing drag forces and thus inducing complex feedbacks which affect scalar transport, sediment mobility and biogeochemical cycling. However, we presently lack mathematical models for this disturbance, for all but the simplest plant forms.

Stage‐Dependent Transcriptional Reprogramming of B‐Cell Receptor Signaling and Antigen Presentation During Bovine Leukemia Virus–Driven Lymphomagenesis

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Bovine leukemia virus (BLV), an oncogenic deltaretrovirus, establishes lifelong infection in cattle and induces enzootic bovine leukosis in a subset of animals following prolonged latency. Despite extensive evidence of immune dysregulation, stage‐specific transcriptional reprogramming of B cells, the primary viral reservoir remains ...

Robust performance hypothesis testing with the Sharpe ratio

open access: yes
Applied researchers often test for the difference of the Sharpe ratios of two investment strategies. A very popular tool to this end is the test of Jobson and Korkie [Jobson, J.D. and Korkie, B.M. (1981).

Identifying Adolescent Mental Health and Behavioral Risk Profiles: The Role of Childhood Adversities, Family Environment, and Peer Support

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Latent class analysis identified three distinct mental health and behavioral risk profiles among Bangladeshi adolescents. Childhood adversities, poor parental understanding, and lack of peer support increased vulnerability to high‐risk profiles, whereas females exposed to household mental illness showed disproportionately elevated risk, highlighting ...

Thermal Abuse and Age of Biomass as Critical Factors for the Viability of Functional Microorganisms in “Fiordilatte” Ice Cream

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Fiordilatte ice‐cream could be a valuable carrier for probiotic microorganisms; however, thawing cycles, in terms of number and duration of each events, along with the conditions of probiotic production (namely the age of cells at the time of inoculation), could strongly affect functional properties.

Postbiotic Supernatants From Psychobiotic Strains Modulate Antioxidant and Serotonergic Responses

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Cell‐free postbiotic supernatants obtained from psychobiotic strains exhibit strain‐dependent antioxidant and serotonergic effects. SCFA‐rich metabolites enhance antioxidant protection and modulate serotonin release in enterochromaffin cells, supporting their potential as functional ingredients for gut and brain health.

Nanoshell Fabrication Techniques for Probiotic Encapsulation: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Probiotics, beneficial microorganisms, confer numerous health benefits when administered. However, their efficacy is hindered by harsh gut conditions, including acidity, bile acids, and enzymatic degradation. To overcome these challenges, encapsulation and nanoshell technology have emerged as a pivotal strategy to enhance probiotic stability ...

SHARPE RATIO MAXIMIZATION AND EXPECTED UTILITY WHEN ASSET PRICES HAVE JUMPS

open access: yes
We analyze portfolio strategies which are locally optimal, meaning that they maximize the Sharpe ratio in a general continuous time jump-diffusion framework. These portfolios are characterized explicitly and compared to utility based strategies.
