Research on seismic performance of prefabricated composite shear wall with end steel plate connection

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Structural Engineering
Chinese construction industry is gradually transforming to industrialization, which promotes the development of prefabricated buildings. As an efficient lateral force resisting system, prefabricated steel-plate concrete composite shear wall structure ...

Characterization of shear bond stress for design of composite slabs using an improved partial shear connection method

open access: yes, 2015
Eurocode 4 design provisions specify two methods for the design of composite slabs, namely the m-k and the partial shear connection (PSC) methods. Currently, the m-k method includes the concrete thickness and the shear span of the slab as variables while

Nanodiamond Sensing in Dynamic Environments With Fast‐Tracking Through Four‐Point Positioning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A four‐point positioning tracking (4PPT) platform enables fast 3D feedback translational tracking of fluorescent nanodiamonds while simultaneously recording ODMR spectra. By integrating real‐time translational tracking with quantum sensing, mobile nanodiamonds are used for in‐situ nanothermometry, nanorheometry, and 6D translation–rotation tracking in ...

Research on Pure Shear Mechanical Properties of Socketed Column to Column Connections in Modular Steel Buildings

open access: yes工程科学与技术
ObjectiveModular steel construction is an innovative building approach that divides traditional buildings into three-dimensional units. Each modular unit is transported to the construction site for assembly after factory prefabrication is completed. This

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed

Numerical Simulation of Cluster-Connected Shear Wall Structures under Seismic Loading

open access: yesBuildings
The reinforced part at the bottom of high-rise assembled monolithic concrete shear wall structures generally uses cast-in-place concrete due to high elastic–plastic deformation capacity requirements, which limits the advantages of prefabricated shear ...

Meniscus‐Guided Soft‐Lithographic Assembly of Grid‐Type Molecular Martensite Films for Single‐Crystal‐Like Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A meniscus‐guided microtransfer molding strategy enables scalable fabrication of grid‐type molecular martensite films with b‐axis‐correlated preferential texture. Sequential growth across microchannel intersections creates structurally continuous grids and robust thermoelastic actuation (∼11% strain, > 50 cycles, maximum force density: 7.1 × 109 N m−3).

Fiber‐reinforced Liquid Metal Composites With Automated Circuit Fabrication for Structurally‐Integrated Power Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fiber‐reinforced liquid metal composites (FibRe LMCs) are introduced that combine GPa‐scale structural performance with digitally programmable electrical conductivity. Through automated CNC activation, conductive pathways and wireless power transfer circuits are fabricated directly within load‐bearing composites, enabling structurally integrated ...

Wearable Kirigami‐Apertured Capacitive Sensors for Continuous Cardiac Volumetric Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A wearable kirigami‐apertured carbon nanotube‐paper composite (K‐CPC) capacitive sensor enables cardiac volumetric monitoring. The kirigami process creates a central aperture with cantilevered fibers that confine the electric field, enhancing both sensitivity and lateral resolution.
