Geology, fluid inclusions, isotope geochemistry, and geochronology of the Paishanlou shear zone-hosted Gold Deposit, North China Craton

open access: yesOre Geology Reviews, 2005
Abstract The Paishanlou gold deposit lies along the northern margin of North China Craton gold province, the third largest Au province in China. The deposit is mainly hosted in Archean metamorphic rocks of the Jianping Group and is structurally controlled by two sets of ductile shear zones.

Effect of filling material on dynamic response and energy dissipation in sandstone with double weak interlayers

open access: yesResults in Engineering
With the extension of China's transportation infrastructure into the complex geological areas in the west, the presence of numerous weak interlayers in the geology has posed significant challenges to the construction of tunnel transportation.

Frictional behavior of talc-calcite mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Faults involving phyllosilicates appear weak when compared to the laboratory-derived strength of most crustal rocks. Among phyllosilicates, talc, with very low friction, is one of the weakest minerals involved in various tectonic settings.

A new uncertainty analysis method based on geostatistical simulation and a case study

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
The stability of slopes might be influenced by numerous uncertainty factors. In this study, three uncertainty factors are considered in the slope stability analysis, which are locations of weak structural surfaces, structures of soil-rock mixtures ...

Evaluation of earthquake impact on magnitude of the minimum principal stress along a shotcrete lined pressure tunnel in Nepal

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2019
In situ stress condition in rock mass is influenced by both tectonic activity and geological environment such as faulting and shearing in the rock mass.

Engineering geology of British rocks and soils : Lias Group [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The report begins with an introduction and a detailed modern assessment of the geology of the Lias Group in terms of both stratigraphy and lithology. The modern lithostratigraphy is placed in the context of the old, and sometimes more familiar, usage ...
