Flexural shear behavior of FRHSC beams with fibers only in shear span
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2022Abstract As per Code of Indian Standards, a concrete having a compressive strength greater than or equal to 65 N/mm2 is referred to as a high strength concrete. High strength concrete has many favorable properties, but it is a brittle material and has a low rate of increase of tensile strength due to which it is not of great use in earthquake-prone ...

CFRP Repair of RC Beams with Shear-Span and Full-Span Corrosions
Journal of Composites for Construction, 2010This paper presents experimental and analytical results of a study conducted to investigate the use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates to rehabilitate shear-span and full-span corrosion-damaged RC beams. Fifteen RC beams were fabricated and were divided into three groups: control, shear-span, and full-span corrosions.

Critical shear span ratio of bend and shear cracking of masonry wall
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011Critical shear span ratio of bend and shear cracking of brick wall is studied in order to determine and control configuration of bend and shear failure of masonry bearing walls subjected to horizontal action. The concept of critical shear span ratio between bend and shear cracking is set forth firstly, and the analysis principle of critical shear span ...

High-Strength Concrete Deep Beams With Effective Span and Shear Span Variations
ACI Structural Journal, 1995Nineteen reinforced concrete deep beams with compressive strengths in the range of 41 MPa ≤ f' c ≤ 59 MPa (6000 psi ≤ f' c ≤ 8600 psi) were tested under two-point top loading. All the beams were singly reinforced with main steel percentage p = 1.23 percent and with nominal percentage of shear reinforcement ρ v = 0.48 percent.

AFRP Fabric Strengthening along Shear span in Shear deficient beams
International Journal on Science and TechnologyIn this study, AFRP (Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer) Fabric were utilized to externally strengthen the shear deficient beams in the shear span. Shear deficient beams externally strengthened with varying thickness of AFRP in Shear span and two layers of AFRP Strip of 50 mm width at the bottom of the beam are modeled and analysed.

Shear-Lag Effects in Three-Span Continuous Box Girder
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011The physical explanation of shear lag is given in this paper. The shear lag effects can be attributed to the abrupt change of shear stress at web-flange junction. The abrupt change at the junction of shear stresses changes the magnitude of the flange bending stresses, which attenuates gradually with increasing distances from the web.

Shear behavior of RC beams reinforced with internal trussed steel strips at shear span zone
Structures, 2021Abstract This paper presents an experimental study on the shear performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams provided with pre-prepared steel trusses in the shear span zone. Those steel trusses were assembled using electrical welding for steel strips of 2 mm thickness.

Shear behavior of two-span fiber reinforced concrete beams
Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2019Abstract The presented study was conducted to assess the shear capacity and the mechanical behavior of fiber reinforced concrete two-span beams in a five-point bending test. Experimental research was focused on observing changes in the behavior of tested elements depending on the amount of shear reinforcement (stirrups) and the fiber type used.
