Shear behavior of RC beams reinforced with internal trussed steel strips at shear span zone
Structures, 2021Abstract This paper presents an experimental study on the shear performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams provided with pre-prepared steel trusses in the shear span zone. Those steel trusses were assembled using electrical welding for steel strips of 2 mm thickness.

Shear behavior of two-span fiber reinforced concrete beams
Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2019Abstract The presented study was conducted to assess the shear capacity and the mechanical behavior of fiber reinforced concrete two-span beams in a five-point bending test. Experimental research was focused on observing changes in the behavior of tested elements depending on the amount of shear reinforcement (stirrups) and the fiber type used.

Indirect Loading on Beams with Short Shear Spans
ACI Journal Proceedings, 1977A study of the effect of loading and supporting conditions on the behavior and ultimate shear strength of beams with short shear spans is presented. Previous experimental work by the authors has been extended to include a shear span-to-depth ratio = 2. The overall findings of the investigation are summarized.

Shear Behavior of Large-Scale Post-Tensioned Girders with Small Shear Span-Depth Ratio
ACI Structural Journal, 2010Although there have been several studies on the shear behavior of prestressed concrete beams, these generally focused on shear capacity rather than shear deformation. The present study investigated the shear deformation of large-scale reinforced I-shaped girders and post-tensioned prestressed concrete girders with a small shear span-depth ratio of 2.5.

Experiments on thin airfoils spanning a transonic shear flow
1976A wind tunnel was built at the California Institute of Technology to provide two uniform coflowing streams at Mach numbers of 0.6 and l.4 with a plane mixing layer in between. Preliminary studies were made of this free shear layer, indicating a region of self-similar behavior and general agreement in growth rate with previous studies.

Experimental Investigation of Trapezoidal Profile Sheeting under Varying Shear Spans
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2016Composite construction method has been mainly popular due to its faster, lighter and economical methods in high rise buildings. Composite deck slab consisting of two different components, concrete being good in compression placed at the upper portion and the cold form profiled sheeting being good in resistance to tension is placed at the bottom of the ...
