Soil reinforcement potential of multifunctional crop plants on arable and non-arable tropical soils
Root systems of grasses provide cost-effective, sustainable solution for soil stabilization, yet this potential in the roots of common arable crops remains largely unexplored.

Study on the Influence of Slope Static Load on Shallow Lining Support Structure
On the basis of the background of the shallow‐buried main adit supported by stone lining, the mechanical model of the supporting structure is constructed, and the stability of the supporting structure is analyzed by using the methods of field investigation, theoretical analysis, and numerical simulation.

Guidelines for the preparation of hydrogels with protective function
Abstract As three dimensional network structure functional materials, protective hydrogels, with their excellent biocompatibility, high water content, and the ability to provide physical barriers and regulate the environment for active substances/cells, have shown broad prospects in fields such as drug delivery, tissue engineering, and food ...

The Effect of Wetting on the Collapsibility and Shear Strengths of Tropical Residual Soils [PDF]
In Malaysia, almost 80% of its land is covered with residual soils, especially sedimentary and granitic residual soils. It is believed that these types of soil have a high possibility to collapse when wetted.

Planned harvesting and processing of marine macroalgae could meet future global food needs and mitigate fuel‐originated carbon dioxide responsible for climate change. Microalgal foods are nutritious and safe. The utilization of macroalgae would avoid environmental problems arising from the release of overgrowing macroalgae caused by heatwaves, which ...

Climate models generally reproduce the WAWJ and August peak but simulate its onset prematurely and too strongly relative to ERA5. CMIP6 simulations struggle to reproduce the jet–precipitation relationship in the Sahel and underrepresent associated moisture transports.

Tropical Cyclone Rainfall Spatial Asymmetries in the Lesser Antilles
Rainfall is not proportional to the Saffir‐Simpson wind‐based categories. Lower category tropical cyclones (TS, H1, H2 and H3) can generate more intense rainfall than H4 and H5. Rainfall is asymmetric; as a tropical cyclone intensifies or weakens, the location of peak rainfall shifts.
