Living Hydrogels: Harnessing Microorganism–Material Synergy for Next‐Generation Therapeutics
. ABSTRACT Microorganism‐based therapies, particularly those utilizing probiotics, have emerged as a powerful biomedical strategy owing to their inherent living functionalities. These living systems can dynamically interact with host environments and self‐regulate their activity, offering superior adaptability, prolonged functionality, and ...

Production, characterization and immobilization of protease produced by Periconia byssoides
Abstract The present work sought to broaden the repertoire of proteolytic biocatalyst formulations by producing, purifying, characterizing, and identifying suitable immobilization carriers for an extracellular protease from the filamentous fungi Periconia byssoides.

Quadruple hydrogen‐bonded high‐adhesion ionogels for gesture recognition and real‐time NH3 sensing. Ionogels have garnered significant attention in flexible sensing due to their outstanding mechanical properties, conductivity, and stability. However, establishing a robust and stable adhesive interface with various substrates remains a significant ...

This work combines textile technology to ingeniously integrate a hydrophobic PP/MXene photothermal sheath with a hydrophilic cotton core into functionalized yarns, successfully developing a Janus core‐sheath evaporator (PM‐CSY‐F). The evaporator demonstrates outstanding evaporation rates and efficient desalination efficiency when applied to treating ...

Estimation of runoff critical shear stress for soil erosion from soil shear strength
Catena, 2004Critical shear stress is an important soil parameter governing detachment by runoff which appears in numerous erosion models. Soil shear strength has been often presented as the best soil property to predict critical shear stress. However, only a few studies have documented the relationship between soil shear strength and critical shear stress, and the

Effect of rate on soil shear strength and soil-metal friction I. Shear strength
Soil and Tillage Research, 1983Abstract The effect of deformation rate on the shear strength of a sandy and a clay soil has been examined in a new laboratory rig designed to shear soil in the range equivalent to 0.0015-5 m/s sliding speed. Soil cohesion was found to vary logarithmically with deformation rate over a wide range of moisture contents.

Soil shear strength: Its measurement and soil detachability
CATENA, 1989Abstract Recent research on soil erosion mechanics has pointed out that the condition at which rill flow becomes erosive is controlled by soil surface shear strength ( TORRI et al. 1987a , RAUWS & GOVERS 1988) . Also splash detachment processes are strictly linked to soil shear strength as shown by NEARING & BRADFORD (1985) , TORRI et al. (1987b) .

The shear strength of unsaturated soils
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1978The shear strength of an unsaturated soil is written in terms of two independent stress state variables. One form of the shear strength equation is[Formula: see text]The transition from a saturated soil to an unsaturated soil is readily visible. A second form of the shear strength equation is[Formula: see text]Here the independent roles of changes in ...
