Shear-resistant behavior of light composite shear wall

Journal of Central South University, 2015
Shear test results for a composite wall panel in a light composite structure system are compared with test results for shear walls in Japan. The analysis results show that this kind of composite wall panel works very well, and can be regarded as a solid panel.

Shear resistance of stiffened steel corrugated shear walls

Thin-Walled Structures, 2018
Abstract In recent years, the steel corrugated shear walls (SCSWs) are widely used in building structures to serve as lateral force resistant members. For some practical engineering applications that the width of the infilled SCSWs in frame structure is much greater than its height, it is common to add vertical stiffening systems to the SCSWs, thus ...

Wall shear in pulsatile flow

The Bulletin of Mathematical Biophysics, 1972
This paper deals with a mathematical attempt to determine the wall shear during normal flow of blood in the ascending and the descending thoracic aorta. A simple model is used, but the results obtained are in agreement with published experimental results for the descending thoracic aorta.

Sliding Shear Resistance of Reinforced Masonry Shear Walls

The Masonry Society Journal, 2013
For reinforced masonry shear walls, the general strength-design provisions of the 2011 MSJC Code addresses capacities as governed by flexure and shear only, and do not address sliding shear. This omission should be corrected, because sliding can govern the behavior of reinforced masonry shear walls.

Interface tilt walls, shear walls and cracks

Physica Scripta, 1992
The problem of the tilt (and the shear) boundary near or at an interface separating two elastic half spaces of differing elastic constants is related to the problem of the mode I and the mode II interface crack. The existing solutions for crack problems are based on the solution of the stress-displacement field of a discrete edge dislocation near an ...

Wall shear stress in stenotic artery

Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 1992
The effects induced by a mild arterial stenosis on the wall shear stress is theoretically investigated. Distribution of shear stress along canine femoral artery and during the cardiac cycle is calculated simulating both the physiological state of the artery and the stenotic condition.

Shear walls with openings

2020
