The Flexure-based Microgap Rheometer (FMR) [PDF]
Submitted to J. Rheol. We describe the design and construction of a new microrheometer designed to facilitate the viscometric study of complex fluids with very small sample volumes (1-10 μl)and gaps of micrometer dimensions.

Self‐Assembly of Nanoparticles in 2D and 3D: Recent Advances and Future Trends
The interface between two immiscible liquids, being a few nanometers in thickness, offers an important scaffold for the self‐assembly of nanoscale substances driven by the reduction in interfacial energy. The self‐assembly processes offer higher‐order assemblies with improved properties toward electronic, optical, catalytic, magnetic, and biomedical ...

Films of bacteria at interfaces: three stages of behaviour
Bacterial attachment to a fluid interface can lead to the formation of a film with physicochemical properties that evolve with time. We study the time evolution of interface (micro)mechanics for interfaces between oil and bacterial suspensions by ...

A critical update of experimental techniques of bulk and interfacial components for fluid characterization with relevance to well fluid processing and transport [PDF]
The present article reviews techniques to address central flow assurance and separation issues. It is our purpose to update the need for extended information in order to draw adequate conclusions about the reason for irregularities in production and how ...

Boundary elements method for microfluidic two-phase flows in shallow channels
In the following work we apply the boundary element method to two-phase flows in shallow microchannels, where one phase is dispersed and does not wet the channel walls.

Ultrasonic and Densitometric Characterization of Hyaluronan and its Interaction with Surfactant [PDF]
This disertation thesis is focused on the study of physico-chemical interactions of hyaluronan (with molecular weights from 10 to 1750 kDa) with cationic surfactants measured using uncommon technique named high resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy ...

Real‐Time Observation of Protein Aggregation at Liquid‐Liquid Interfaces in a Microfluidic Device
Using a microfluidic droplet rheometer, protein aggregation at an oil–water interface is monitored in real‐time. It is applied to identify the apparent reaction order of the aggregation rate as a function of concentration, unravel mechanistic insights underlying particle formation, and identify stabilizing excipients.
