Shearlet Enhanced Snapshot Compressive Imaging
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2020Snapshot compressive imaging (SCI) is a promising approach to capture high-dimensional data with low dimensional sensors. With modest modifications to off-the-shelf cameras, SCI cameras encode multiple frames into a single measurement frame. These correlated frames can then be retrieved by reconstruction algorithms.

Over the last 20 years, multiscale methods and wavelets have revolutionized the field of applied mathematics by providing an efficient means for encoding isotropic phenomena. Directional multiscale systems, particularly shearlets, are now having the same dramatic impact on the encoding of multivariate signals.

Edges and Corners With Shearlets
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2015Shearlets are a relatively new and very effective multi-scale framework for signal analysis. Contrary to the traditional wavelets, shearlets are capable to efficiently capture the anisotropic information in multivariate problem classes. Therefore, shearlets can be seen as the valid choice for multi-scale analysis and detection of directional sensitive ...

In this chapter, we will provide a comprehensive overview of shearlet coorbit theory. We will present an almost self-contained introduction into coorbit theory which is the basis for all our investigations. We also discuss the group theoretical background of the continuous shearlet transform, and we explain how the shearlet transform can be combined ...

SHEARLET TRANSFORMS AND DIRECTIONAL REGULARITIES
International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2010In an effort to characterize uniform and pointwise Hölder regularities, we obtain necessary decay rates and sufficient decay rates of continuous and discrete shearlet transform across scales. They are the same rates as those of the Hart Smith and continuous curvelet transforms.

Shearlets as Multi-scale Radon Transforms
Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing, 2017It is shown that the 2D-shearlet transform is the composition of the affine Radon transform, a 1D-wavelet transform and a 1D-convolution. This is applied to give an alternative proof of the fact that the shearlet transform is able to resolve the wavefront set associated with the unit disc.

In video coding, in-loop filtering has attracted attention due to its increasing coding performances. In this paper the shearlet-based loop filter is proposed using a sparsifying transform, the shearlet transform, which can identify the important structures of natural images such as edges in the sparse transform domain.

Face recognition using Shearlets
2012 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS), 2012In this paper we propose a novel statistical face recognition method that uses a new multiresolution analysis called Shearlet transform for facial texture features representation. In recent years Shearlet transform has emerged as the most successful framework for the efficient representation of multidimensional data in which directional information is ...
