Shearlet-Based Deconvolution

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2009
In this paper, a new type of deconvolution algorithm is proposed that is based on estimating the image from a shearlet decomposition. Shearlets provide a multidirectional and multiscale decomposition that has been mathematically shown to represent distributed discontinuities such as edges better than traditional wavelets.

Shearlets: Theory and Applications

GAMM-Mitteilungen, 2014
AbstractMany important problem classes are governed by anisotropic features such as singularities concentrated on lower dimensional embedded manifolds, for instance, edges in images or shock fronts in solutions of transport dominated equations. While the ability to reliably capture and sparsely represent anisotropic structures is obviously the more ...

A new construction of shearlets

Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics, 2022
In order to achieve optimally sparse approximations of signals exhibiting anisotropic singularities, the shearlet systems that are systems of functions generated by one generator with dilation, shear transformation and translation operators applied to it were introduced.

SHEARLET TRANSFORMS AND DIRECTIONAL REGULARITIES

International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2010
In an effort to characterize uniform and pointwise Hölder regularities, we obtain necessary decay rates and sufficient decay rates of continuous and discrete shearlet transform across scales. They are the same rates as those of the Hart Smith and continuous curvelet transforms.

Nonseparable Shearlet Transform

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2013
Over the past few years, various representation systems which sparsely approximate functions governed by anisotropic features, such as edges in images, have been proposed. Alongside the theoretical development of these systems, algorithmic realizations of the associated transforms are provided.

Shearlet-based Loop Filter

2018 26th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2018
In video coding, in-loop filtering has attracted attention due to its increasing coding performances. In this paper the shearlet-based loop filter is proposed using a sparsifying transform, the shearlet transform, which can identify the important structures of natural images such as edges in the sparse transform domain.

Shearlets as Multi-scale Radon Transforms

Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing, 2017
It is shown that the 2D-shearlet transform is the composition of the affine Radon transform, a 1D-wavelet transform and a 1D-convolution. This is applied to give an alternative proof of the fact that the shearlet transform is able to resolve the wavefront set associated with the unit disc.
