Multiple Sampling Capsule Robot for Studying Gut Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A multiple sampling capsule robot (MSCR) is developed for longitudinal gut microbiome analysis. Employing electromagnetic field control, the MSCR can locomote actively, precisely align the selected channel, and collect up to six microbiome samples with minimal cross‐contamination.

Optimization of protein removal process of Lonicera japonica polysaccharide and its immunomodulatory mechanism in cyclophosphamide‐induced mice by metabolomics and network pharmacology

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 364-378, January 2023., 2023
In this paper, the best protein removal method of Lonicera japonica polysaccharide was determined and its process was optimized by response surface method. Pharmacological experiments showed that polysaccharides had therapeutic effect on immunodeficiency mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX).

A mouse coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model with tail‐looping constructed using a suturing method

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.

Sheep Collisions: the Good, the Bad, and the TBI [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
The title page of Chapter 9 in Fundamentals of Physics (Halliday, Resnick, and Walker, 8th Edition, p. 201) shows a dramatic photograph of two Big Horn sheep butting heads and promises to explain how sheep survive such violent clashes without serious injury. However, the answer presented in sample problem 9-4 (p.

Towards Detection of Sheep Onboard a UAV [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In this work we consider the task of detecting sheep onboard an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying at an altitude of 80 m. At this height, the sheep are relatively small, only about 15 pixels across. Although deep learning strategies have gained enormous popularity in the last decade and are now extensively used for object detection in many fields ...
