Slotting Allowance: an Overlooked Angle in Grocery Retailing [PDF]

open access: yes
Ever wonder why one product brand enjoys a more prominent shelf location in a particular retail establishment than another brand? Would such arrangement have any impact on the price one pays for a particular product?

Emerging patterns of species richness, diversity, population density, and distribution in the skates (Rajidae) of Alaska [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Six years of bottom-trawl survey data, including over 6000 trawls covering over 200 km2 of bottom area throughout Alaska’s subarctic marine waters, were analyzed for patterns in species richness, diversity, density, and distribution of skates. The Bering

Unravelling the Atomic Structure of a Metal‐Covalent Organic Framework Assembled from Ruthenium Metalloligands

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Metal‐covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs) are novel porous materials that exhibit the advantages of covalent and metal‐organic frameworks. However, it is extremely difficult to resolve their atomic structure and better understand their structure‐properties relation. This work utilizes a synergistic combination of advanced microscopy, spectroscopic, and

A nursery site of the Alaska skate (Bathyraja parmifera) in the eastern Bering Sea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A nursery site for the Alaska skate (Bathyraja parmifera) was sampled seasonally from June 2004 to July 2005. At the small nursery site (~2 km2), located in a highly productive area near the shelf-slope interface at the head of Bering Canyon in the ...

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Microfacies and foraminifers of the Tulian horizon (the Visean substage, Lower Carboniferous) of the southeast of the East European platform and the Southern Urals

open access: yesGeoresursy
The article presents the characteristics of microfacies and foraminiferal complexes of the Tulian horizon of the Visean substage in sections of the Preduralskaya-106 and Oktyabrskaya-106 boreholes in the Eastern part of the Volga-Ural region and the ...

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Ecological reef restoration: consumptive and nonconsumptive interactions among common North Sea predators and European oysters

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
Oyster reefs are biodiversity hotspots with multiple ecosystem functions and services that are declining worldwide. Historic populations of European oysters (Ostrea edulis) have been decimated by overfishing and are nowadays considered functionally ...
