Food shelf-life models

2019
A new approach in commercial life studies is clearly emerging in the most advanced scientific literature. It is proposed to combine the shelf-life assessment with the environmental impact inventory data and the analysis of food losses to support adequate environmental strategies.

Reliability, Life Testing, and Shelf Life

2016
Everything will fail, eventually. Reliability is a probability that a system (or a component) will fail no sooner than t time units from the time it begins operating. Reliability has many manifestations, or one might consider reliability as a special case of probabilities that some specific type of event will occur no sooner than t units from some ...

Shelf Life (2009)

2011
F or a long time to come, economists, pundits, and politi- cians will be wondering what to do about the largest and deepest economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s and how it happened, yet again. Overlooked is the fact that we are simultaneously running two intertwined defcits with very different time scales, dynamics, and politics. The

Shelf Life of Sunflower Kernels

Journal of Food Science, 1997
ABSTRACTOne raw and two oil roasted samples of sunflower kernels packaged in paper bags and in two types of low oxygen atmosphere pouches were stored at 5, 21 and 38°C. Quality of the stored samples was monitored by an expert sensory panel, peroxide, hexanal, free fatty acids and moisture determinations. Liking ratings, obtained with 99 consumers after

Shelf Life

2017
In the late 17th century, cabinets of curiosity reflected the birth of modern science, manifested in exotic collections of artifacts, specimens, and artworks. These precursors to modern museums juxtaposed natural science and religion, even fact and fiction. These cabinets reveled in the marvelous, the rare, and often the freakish.

Life in the shelf seas

2012
Much of the physics in the preceding chapters can be traced back to the fundamentals of fluid flow encapsulated in the equations of motion and continuity, along with the eddy description of turbulence. By contrast, describing the basics of life in the sea presents us with the difficulty of trying to distil a broad set of concepts from a system which is

Shelf Life of a Sodium Hydroxide Solution

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1962
Of a 0.1 N NaOH solution, portions of about 400 ml were stored for four years in rubber-stoppered bottles of a) soft glass: b) Polyethene; c) Jena Gerateglas 20; d) Pyrex glass. Carbonate and total alkali (hydroxide + carbonate) contents were determined by titration, first to a phenol phthalein, afterwards to a chlorophenol red end-point.
