Monte Carlo shell model

Nuclear Physics A, 2001
Abstract The development and limitations of the conventional shell-model calculations are mentioned. In order to overcome the limitations, the Quantum Monte Carlo Diagonalization (QMCD) method has been proposed. The basic formulation and features of the QMCD method are presented as well as its application to the nuclear shell model, as referred to as

Dynamical Content of the Shell Model

Physica Scripta, 1983
A critical discussion is given of several recent attempts to introduce dynamical content in the shell model by means of adding corrections to the Hartree-Fock approximation. Numerical results are given single-particle neutron energies in 208Pb.

Shell model for rotating turbulence

Physical Review E, 2004
A modified shell model for rotating turbulence is proposed. The effect of rotation is introduced by a randomized linear term. Randomization is shown to be important in correctly modeling the rotation effect. Numerical simulation shows that the exponent of the energy spectrum in the inertial range changes from -5/3 to -2 as rotation rate increases.

A New Linear Shell Model for Shells with Little Regularity

Journal of Elasticity, 2014
In this paper, a new model of linearly elastic shell is formulated. The model is of Koiter’s type capturing the membrane and bending effects. However, the model is well formulated for shells with little regularity, namely the shells whose middle surface is parameterized by a W^{; ; ; 1, ∞}; ; ; function.

The Spherical Shell Nuclear Model

Physical Review, 1950
Abstract It is found that the spherical shell nuclear model has new energy levels due to the interaction of the vibrations and the rotation. Each vibration level has a series of equally spaced levels belonging to it. The levels of aluminium 28 and silicon 28 are compared with the values predicted by the theory and good agreement is ...

Shelling Algorithm in Solid Modeling

2004
Shelling is a powerful modeling operation in current CAD /CAM systems. In this paper, we present a new shelling algorithm for regular B-Rep solids. We first generate an initial offset solid, then correct the self-intersecting offset solid if necessary. We obtain the resultant shelling solid through a regularized Boolean operation finally. The algorithm
