Shell structure of the superheavy elements [PDF]
Ground state properties of the superheavy elements (SHE) with Z from 108 to 128 and N from 150 to 192 are investigated using both the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method with a density-independent contact pairing interaction and the macroscopic-microscopic approach with an average Woods-Saxon potential and a monopole pairing interaction.

Rib‐reinforced Shell Structure [PDF]
AbstractShell structures are extensively used in engineering due to their efficient load‐carrying capacity relative to material volume. However, large‐span shells require additional supporting structures to strengthen fragile regions. The problem of designing optimal stiffeners is therefore becoming a major challenge for shell applications.

Nuclear level density in the statistical semiclassical micro-macroscopic approach [PDF]
Level density ρ is derived for a finite system with strongly interacting nucleons at a given energy E, neutron N, and proton Z particle numbers, projection of the angular momentum M, and other integrals of motion, within the semiclassical periodic-orbit ...

Tubular steel towers are the most common design solution for supporting medium-to-high-rise wind turbines. Notwithstanding, historical failure incidence records reveal buckling modes as a common type of failure of shell structures.

In 1st report, the authors presented Galerkin-based meshfree modeling for folded plate structures. A flat shell formulation was developed including drilling rotation components, and multiple point constraint technique was introduced to model the folded ...
