An application of SHEPWM technique in a cascade multilevel inverter
COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2005Purpose In this paper, a new application of the Selected Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHEPWM) technique used in the cascade multilevel inverter topology which is formed by series connections of one-phase bridge type inverters (H-bridge) is introduced.

A hybrid approach for solving nonlinear equations of SHEPWM in multilevel inverters
2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012Because of nonlinear nature of corresponding equations in SHEPWM switching strategy, applied to stepped waveform of multilevel inverter's output voltage, using genetic algorithm Toolbox of MATLAB software is a normal solution. Two approaches for solving the equations have been selected in literature.

Comparison of Harmonics Between SVPWM and SHEPWM
2018The traction system of rail transit has the characteristics of low switching frequency and wide speed range, and generally adopts “asynchronous modulation + synchronous modulation + square wave” full-speed range pulse width modulation strategy. In order to realize the smooth transition from asynchronous modulation to square wave modulation, many ...

Real solution number of the nonlinear equations in the SHEPWM technology
2010 International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing, 2010This paper studied the real solution number of the switch angles for the inverters which are based on the Selective Harmonic Eliminated PWM (SHEPWM) technology. By the method of variable substitution, the nonlinear transcendental equations can be transformed to a Semi-Algebraic system.

Application of Firefly Algorithm on the SHEPWM strategy for the multilevel inverters
2014 International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb (CISTEM), 2014The aim of this article is the application of a new Metaheuristic algorithm (Firefly Algorithm) for solving a nonlinear algebraic system where the resolution is needed to study the Selective Harmonic Eliminated PWM strategy (SHEPWM); this strategy is applied to multilevel inverters. The Firefly Algorithm (FA), proposed by Xin-She Yang at the University

GA-based optimization and ANN-based SHEPWM generation for two-level inverter
2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015Selective harmonic elimination (SHE) is a well-known PWM technique applied voltage source inverters (VSI) to control fundamental voltage and eliminate chosen harmonics. This technique requires the determination of optimum switching angles by solving the nonlinear equation set and a look-up table stored the switching times in a real-time application ...

Dead-Time Elimination Method of High Frequency Inverter with SHEPWM
2019 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2019Selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation(SHEPWM) inverter can eliminate harmonic effectively in theory, but dead-time increases the harmonic component in output voltage. Based on its operating principle, the advance-off mode is taken as an example to analyze the influence of dead-time on SHEPWM inverter, and the waveform figures and output

Multi-mode SHEPWM with low switch frequency for traction application
2017 19th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'17 ECCE Europe), 2017To eliminate current harmonics and improve voltage utilization. When traction motor was run in high speed area, a new method is proposed that solve the harmonics component is high and transition which from SPWM to SHEPWM then to six-step mode on the condition of low switch frequency. The method was introduced, principles were analyzed and formulas were

Design and implementation of single-phase modified SHEPWM unipolar inverter
2015 IEEE Conference on Energy Conversion (CENCON), 2015Nowadays, the main target of industrial power and the utility is to save the electrical energy. With the modern industrial system such variable speed drives of the inverter, the system becomes more efficient and the control becomes way simpler. However, it will affect the harmonic in the system and gives an impact to the whole system performance.
