A Shewhart chart with alternated charting statistic to control multivariate Poisson processes

Computers and Industrial Engineering, 2020
Abstract In this article, a Shewhart c chart with alternating charting statistic (ACS Poisson chart) is proposed to control multivariate Poisson processes. Considering the bivariate case, where we have the occurrence of X and Y defects; if the current sample point is cx (cy), the number of X (Y) defects, then the next sample point will be cy (cx ...

Combined Shewhart–EWMA control charts with estimated parameters

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2009
Shewhart and EWMA control charts can be suitably combined to obtain a simple monitoring scheme sensitive to both large and small shifts in the process mean. So far, the performance of the combined Shewhart–EWMA (CSEWMA) has been investigated under the assumption that the process parameters are known.

Monitoring bivariate and trivariate mean vectors with a Shewhart chart

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, 2017
In this article, we propose the use of the mean chart to control multivariate processes. The basic idea is to control the mean vector of bivariate (X, Y) and trivariate (X, Y, Z) processes by alternating the charting statistic of the Shewhart chart.

Shewhart Control Charts in New Perspective

Sequential Analysis, 2007
The effects of estimating parameters and the violation of the assumption of normality when dealing with control charts are discussed. Corrections for estimating errors and extensions of the normal control chart to parametric and nonparametric charts are investigated.
