Sequence‐Sensitivity in Functional Synthetic Polymer Properties
Random heteropolymers based on a methyl methacrylate backbone have been shown to display protein‐like properties independent of their sequence, forming compact globules with similar monomer hydration patterns and stabilization potential for bacterial phospholipase OmpLA. However, modifying the backbone chemistry introduces sequence sensitivity.

Abstract Enhanced geothermal systems rely on increasing permeability and pore surface area in rock. Cyclic thermal shocking can achieve both by inducing thermal cracks through repeated rapid cooling. Laboratory experiments subjected micritic limestone, granodiorite, and trachybasalt to up to 10 thermal shock cycles, while tracking crack evolution ...

By directly comparing PEALD (P‐IGZO) and thermal‐ALD (T‐IGZO), we show that oxidant reactivity governs atomically ordered InOx–(Ga, Zn)O nanolaminates and a robust 2DEG in amorphous IGZO. PEALD with oxygen plasma forms sharper, chemically distinct interfaces and higher InOx connectivity, achieving ∼90 cm2 V−1 s−1 mobility and superior BTI stability ...
