Magnetic shielding and minimization of shielding material
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1994The guide lines on magnetic shielding in general cases are given. The relationship between leakage fields and electromagnetic properties of ferromagnetic material used in the magnetic shielding is clarified. Along such guide lines, magnetic field analysis is discussed from the viewpoint of minimizing the amount of the shielding material, which is quite

Shielding effect of superconducting magnetically shielded room
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1997A Superconducting Magnetically Shielded Room (SMSR) has been developed. Superconducting panels are soldered to form a shielding wall of which the soldered connections have normal conduction. Therefore, the Shielding Factor (SF) of the SMSR degrades especially at low frequency, which is different from a superconducting shielded room without a normal ...

Publisher Summary The control measures can be conceived at three levels—primary, secondary, and tertiary. The tertiary level includes full shielding and is an expensive choice to make; this option should only be chosen when all other measures have been applied.

British Journal of Orthodontics, 1981
A lip shield is described for use by wind instrument players undergoing multiband orthodontic treatment. The value to the wind instrumentalist of freedom from malocclusion or dental irregularities is discussed. There would seem to be a real conflict between the need for practice and the desirability of orthodontic treatment for these patients.

Applications of nuclear shielding
1994The report covers and introduces studies on the application of nuclear shielding, related NMR chemical shifts and NMR lineshapes, which were made in the world from 1 June 2010 to 31 May 2011. The shieldings of particular nuclear species are described in the following section according to their posit...

Shielding Effectiveness of Braided-Wire Shields
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1975An analysis of the shielding effectiveness of braidedwire shields is made using the parameters of the woven wire and the theory of electromagnetic coupling through small irises. The coupling through the rhombic-shaped holes in the braid is approximated by using the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of elliptical holes of the same width and length ...
