Numerical Investigation of Bored Tunnelling Effects on Pile‐Supported Superstructures
ABSTRACT Tunnelling in urban environments can significantly affect existing buried structures such as pile foundations. However, the current understanding of how tunnelling‐induced ground movements influence the stability and serviceability of piles remains limited. This knowledge gap presents potential risks that must be addressed during tunnel design

Total temperature probes for high-temperature hypersonic boundary-layer measurements [PDF]
The design and test results of two types of total temperature probes that were used for hypersonic boundary-layer measurements are presented. The intent of each design was to minimize the total error and to maintain minimal size for measurements in ...

This study presents a novel, nondestructive in situ method to quantify water ingress using near‐infrared absorption (NIRA) spectroscopy, calibrated with absolute water content via Karl–Fischer titration (KFT). The presented approach offers a powerful quality assurance and inspection tool for module manufacturers and solar developers, supporting ...

Migrasomes, Matrix‐Bound Nanovesicles, and More: Messengers in the Matrix
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) and particles (EPs) are diverse micro‐ and nanoparticles that circulate in bodily fluids and can attach to, or be deposited onto, the extracellular matrix (ECM) and other surfaces. To date, the nomenclature and classification of matrix‐bound or matrix‐associated EVs and EPs (MEVPs) have been unclear, largely due to

ABSTRACT BorF is a short‐chain flavin reductase from a desert soil bacterium that uses NADH to reduce FAD to FADH2, which is used by the tryptophan‐6‐halogenase BorH to chlorinate tryptophan in the biosynthetic pathway of borregomycin A. The X‐ray crystal structure of BorF bound to FAD was solved to 2.37 Å by molecular replacement.

Noise reduction in a Mach 5 wind tunnel with a rectangular rod-wall sound shield [PDF]
A rod wall sound shield was tested over a range of Reynolds numbers of 0.5 x 10 to the 7th power to 8.0 x 10 to the 7th power per meter. The model consisted of a rectangular array of longitudinal rods with boundary-layer suction through gaps between the ...
