Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Laboratory test for EPB tunnelling assessment:results of test campaign on two different granular soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Earth Pressure Balanced shields are currently the most utilized tunnelling machines throughout around the world. The possibility of using conditioning agents that change the mechanical and hydraulic behaviour of a soil, changing it into a plastic paste ...

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Model test on cutterhead-soil interaction during shield tunneling and its theoretical model

open access: yesUnderground Space
This study aims to develop a rational theoretical model for cutterhead-soil interaction. The cutterhead-soil interaction mechanism is divided into two components: the cutting action of the cutter on the soil and the extrusion of the cutterhead on the ...

Auxiliary air pressure balance mode for EPB shield tunneling in water-rich gravelly sand strata: Feasibility and soil conditioning

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2022
Machine loads are always high, or soil conditioning is required to be rigorous when the pressure chamber is full of excavated soil during earth pressure balance (EPB) shield tunneling.

Integer and half-integer flux-quantum transitions in a niobium/iron-pnictide loop

open access: yes, 2010
The recent discovery of iron-based superconductors challenges the existing paradigm of high-temperature superconductivity. Owing to their unusual multi-orbital band structure, magnetism, and electron correlation, theories propose a unique sign reversed s-

Evidence of two-dimensional macroscopic quantum tunneling of a current-biased DC-SQUID [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The escape probability out of the superconducting state of a hysteretic DC-SQUID has been measured at different values of the applied magnetic flux. At low temperature, the escape current and the width of the probability distribution are temperature ...

Metro Tunnel Shield Construction in Highly Water-rich Karst Strata

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] When a shield tunneling machine passes through highly water-rich karst development regions in shallow strata, the presence of karst cavities poses significant challenges to land subsidence control, creating potential risks to the safety of ...
