A Ship Detection and Tracking Algorithm for an Airborne Passive Interferometric Microwave Sensor (PIMS)

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
Ship detection by an airborne passive interferometric microwave sensor has been proposed as a powerful complementary tool for ship detection, especially for large ships in low visibility conditions and high sea clutter.

Ship Detection and Segmentation Using Image Correlation [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2013
There have been intensive research interests in ship detection and segmentation due to high demands on a wide range of civil applications in the last two decades. However, existing approaches, which are mainly based on statistical properties of images, fail to detect smaller ships and boats.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

SLA-Net: A Novel Sea–Land Aware Network for Accurate SAR Ship Detection Guided by Hierarchical Attention Mechanism

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In recent years, deep learning (DL)-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) ship detection has made significant strides. However, many existing DL-based SAR ship detection methods treat sea regions and land regions equally, failing to be fully aware of the ...

Basilar Artery Occlusion Stroke Managed With Tenecteplase Versus Alteplase Before Endovascular Treatment (BAO‐TNK)

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the effectiveness and safety of tenecteplase (TNK) versus alteplase (TPA) in patients with basilar artery occlusion prior to endovascular treatment (EVT). Methods In this retrospective multicenter study (BAO‐TNK), we analyzed consecutive BAO patients from 14 U.S.

Inhibition of Classical and Alternative Complement Pathway by Ravulizumab and Eculizumab

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the feasibility of classical (CH50) and alternative (AH50) complement pathway activity as potential biomarkers for treatment guidance and monitoring during therapy with ravulizumab in patients with generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) and compare these to therapeutic drug monitoring under eculizumab.

Exploratory Analysis of ELP1 Expression in Whole Blood From Patients With Familial Dysautonomia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Familial dysautonomia (FD) is a hereditary neurodevelopmental disorder caused by aberrant splicing of the ELP1 gene, leading to a tissue‐specific reduction in ELP1 protein expression. Preclinical models indicate that increasing ELP1 levels can mitigate disease manifestations.

Cutaneous Phosphorylated Alpha‐Synuclein in Lewy Body Dementia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine the test performance of cutaneous phosphorylated alpha‐synuclein (P‐SYN) in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), individuals with reduced Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and healthy controls. Methods This is the first subgroup analysis of the Synuclein‐One study, a prospective, blinded study evaluating P‐SYN detection ...
