A dam‐inspired textile patch for controllable and quantitative sweat transport (as in dams transporting ships) and sweat loss monitoring. Unlike the conventional Janus‐structured textile of directional water transport model, this textile patch features a multi‐laminated all‐porous fabric structure with an unprecedented layer‐by‐layer isovolumetric ...

The Non‐Professional Virtues of the Hospice Volunteer
ABSTRACT Volunteers have long played a significant role in hospice care. Much of the care volunteers provide consists of weekly hour‐long in‐home visits. Home‐visiting hospice volunteers are not professionals, nor are they strangers or intimates. Impatience for negative experiences
Abstract Conceptualizing impatience as an emotion, and patience as the regulation of that emotion, offers new insights and opportunities for the study of consumer behavior. While this framework has primarily been applied to impatience for positive events, many real‐life events of interest involve decisions about negative or mixed‐valence events.

Coupled directional stability of multiple ship formations
This thesis addresses the problem of coordinated motion control and the stability loss of surface marine vehicles. The mathematical model is based on Nomotos second order model which captures the fundamental dynamics of turning on the horizontal plane with no side slip.

Last‐minute coordination: Adapting to demand to support last‐mile operations
Abstract In the highly competitive e‐commerce industry, customer‐facing warehouses are crucial as the “order penetration points” for e‐commerce last‐mile operations. This research examines how warehouses use last‐minute coordination, an unstructured mechanism, to ensure sufficient inventory at the order penetration points. Previous research has focused
