Friction-induced vibration characteristics of water-lubricated rubber bearing

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2018
[Objectives] The stern tube rubber bearing is an important part of marine propulsion systems. However, under unfavorable low-speed, heavy duty and partial high-temperature working conditions, bad lubrication can occur and cause friction-induced vibration.

Analysis of noise from anchored ship and extent of noise to ships vicinity

open access: yesJournal of The Japan Institute of Marine Engineering, 2006
Noise from a ship at anchor sometimes poses problems to humans in the vicinity. The sound from the exhaust of the main generator is the main cause for the noise. This can be managed by installing an active silencer to the main generator. All the noise sources from the ship were analyzed after installing the silencer.

PEDOT:PSS—A Key Material for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PEDOT:PSS ‐ Poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate ‐ is typically processed from water dispersions to form multifunctional and multidimensional constructs with tunable electronic and ionic conductivity. Throught processing engineering, PEDOT:PSS is intergrated in bioelectronic devices that operate efficiently in physiological conditions

Investigation on Low-Frequency and Broadband Sound Absorption of the Compact Anechoic Coating Considering Hydrostatic Pressure

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The anechoic coating capable of absorbing sound energy in low frequencies within broadband is essential to conceal underwater vehicles. However, the geometric deformation and modification of mechanical parameters under hydrostatic pressure affect the ...

Design and Experiment of Magnetic Antenna Vibration and Noise Reduction System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The magnetic antenna can receive extremely weak underwater magnetic signals, and induce the magnetic field intensity which can reach the femto-tesla (fT) level, making it widely used in underwater electromagnetic signal detection.

Arbitrary 3D Organic Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductor Architectures via Self‐Fusion of PEDOT:PSS Microfibers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A general fabricating strategy for arbitrary 3D organic mixed ionic‐electronic conductor architectures is reported using PEDOT:PSS microfiber building blocks. A water‐assisted self‐fusion process is successfully developed in which adhesion can be modulated as reversible (PSS‐rich) or irreversible (PEDOT‐rich) self‐fusion depending on the post‐treatment

Polynomial approach to nonlinear predictive generalized minimum variance control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A relatively simple approach to non-linear predictive generalised minimum variance (NPGMV) control is introduced for non-linear discrete-time multivariable systems.

Shipping noise

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2004
The aim of this paper is to present the result of the experimental research associated with the transmission of acoustic energy generated by a moving ship and its impact on the marine animals. The methodology of evaluation of the transmission of vibration energy from the ship's mechanisms into the sea environment is given and some examples of ...

A shipping noise prediction tool [PDF]

open access: yesOCEANS 2015 - Genova, 2015
Underwater noise is a form of pollution causing significant concern in terms of environmental status. Shipping is considered the main contributor to the total noise at the global scale, since ship radiated noise can propagate up to tens or hundreds of kilometers.
