Density Modulations of Zero Sound

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 2, February 2026.
Zero sound is a collective mode of the strongly interacting quantum gas that propagates when atomic collisions are negligible, similarly to a plasmon. This work aims at investigating the conditions under which a density modulation associated to this collective mode travels coherently through a strongly interacting Fermi gas.

Mycoponics: Controlled Bioproduction Utilizing Biophysical, Solid‐State, Liquid Nutrient Delivery

open access: yesBiotechnology Journal, Volume 21, Issue 2, February 2026.
Graphical Abstract and Lay Summary Mycoponic biotechnology, inspired by hydroponics—is enabled by antimicrobial ceramics as “substrate,” using a complete mycoponic media for continuous bioproduction of mycelial and mushroom products. Applications include food, mycoleather, and mycopharmaceuticals, representing 18% of the global market.

From Archives to Insights: Extreme Weather Events and Socio‐Economic Impacts in Madagascar From Newly Digitised Historical Climate Records (1949–1966)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 2, February 2026.
The CliDaR‐Africa project engages undergraduates in digitising historical African weather records, rescuing over 300,000 observations from Madagascar and the Central African Republic (1949–1966). Analysis of the Madagascar data reveals overlooked extreme events, including a sequence of tropical cyclones, highlighting the country's vulnerability to ...

The Asymmetric Hydrodynamic Structure of a Wind‐Dominated River Plume

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the velocity and salinity structure of the large surface‐attached, low‐latitude, and microtidal plume of the Magdalena River (southern Caribbean Sea) during a period of high freshwater discharge and variable wind conditions. The plume was analyzed through observations at multiple transects along, across, and diagonal to
