ADDED RESISTANCE IN WAVES OF INTACT AND DAMAGED SHIP IN THE ADRIATIC SEA
In this paper the ship added resistance in regular head waves and at different sea states in a certain frequency range at different forward speeds was calculated. Calculations were conducted using hydrodynamic software.

Interplay Between Green Investment and Market Price Premia in Global Shipping
ABSTRACT Existing research emphasises that the driver of green investment is its future profitability. This paper shows that other investors' decisions also influence green investment. We take the example of scrubber installation in shipping, which is optional by regulation but has an established market for trading its underlying asset.

Variability in spatial patterns of long nonlinear waves from fast ferries in Tallinn Bay [PDF]
High-speed ferries are known to generate wakes with unusually long periods, and occasionally large amplitudes which may serve as a qualitatively new forcing factor in coastal regions that are not exposed to a sea swell. An intrinsic feature of such wakes

Environmental Aspects of Total Resistance of Container Ship in the North Atlantic
The total resistance of ship in waves is composed of calm water resistance and added resistance in waves. The added resistance in waves is one of the main causes of an involuntary speed reduction of a ship.

Abstract Objective Early detection of hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in neonates is critical. We conducted a pilot cohort study to determine the feasibility of collecting umbilical cord blood samples for neurofilament light (NfL) and to assess the association of NfL with non‐reassuring fetal status and other cord biomarkers. We aimed to address (

Multi-polarised SAR imaging simulation of ship on heavy sea
Multi-polarisation synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging simulation of ship under heavy sea condition is presented here. Full-wave method is used to compute the fully polarimetric backscattered waves of the complex scene of ship and sea surface.

Within the Pillars of Hercules [PDF]
The Kiona’s hull sliced neatly through the batting waves, her sails pulling forward with the ceaseless breath of the northwestern winds. The boards of the ship hummed beneath Carrice Leon’s feet, interlaced with the rhythmic beating of 170 oars against ...

Forecasting Natural Gas Prices in Real Time
ABSTRACT This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the forecastability of the real price of natural gas in the United States at the monthly frequency considering a universe of models that differ in complexity and economic content. We find that considerable reductions in mean‐squared prediction error relative to a no‐change benchmark can be ...
