SHIP WAVES IN SHOALING WATERS

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 1968
Models of two types of vessels were towed at various speeds in water of uniform depth. On one side of the sailing line the ship waves were allowed to move over beaches of various slopes. The wave heights were measured and compared at two points equidistant from the sailing line- patterns were determined by photographs.

The Future of Hydrogen‐Powered Aviation: Technologies, Challenges, and a Strategic Roadmap for Sustainable Decarbonization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Hydrogen‐powered aviation offers a transformative pathway to zero‐emission flight by eliminating in‐flight CO2 emissions. Key considerations include propulsion systems (fuel cells and hydrogen combustion), cryogenic storage and insulation challenges, infrastructure and cost barriers, and supply‐chain constraints.

A multi-objective DIRECT algorithm for ship hull optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The paper is concerned with black-box nonlinear constrained multi-objective optimization problems. Our interest is the definition of a multi-objective deterministic partition-based algorithm. The main target of the proposed algorithm is the solution of a

Experimental optimization of perforated structures in presence of ship-generated waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Due to waves generated by ferries and motorboats in Venice's canals, the navigation of small vessels, such as typical gondolas, has recently become more and more difficult.

Boundary element methods in the prediction of the acoustic damping of ship whipping vibrations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Damping of ship whipping vibrations following a slam due to wave impact is traditionally assumed to be primarily of material or structural origin. However, several mechanisms of energy dissipation to the surrounding water exist, including gravity and ...
