Numerics of singularly perturbed differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The main purpose of this report is to carry out the effect of the various numerical methods for solving singular perturbation problems on non-uniform meshes.

Uniformly-convergent numerical methods for a system of coupled singularly perturbed convection–diffusion equations with mixed type boundary conditions

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2013
In this paper, two hybrid difference schemes on the Shishkin mesh are constructed for solving a weakly coupled system of two singularly perturbed convection - diffusion second order ordinary differential equations subject to the mixed type boundary ...

Nonstandard hybrid numerical scheme for singularly perturbed parabolic differential equations with large delay

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, a numerical scheme for a class of singularly perturbed delay parabolic convection–diffusion problems having Dirichlet boundary conditions is proposed. When the perturbation parameter tends to zero, the solution to these problems exhibits a

Efficient resolution of singularly perturbed coupled systems: Equations of reaction-diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this communication we consider a class of singularly perturbed linear system of reaction-diffusion type coupled in the reaction terms. To approximate its solution, in [3] J.L. Gracia, F.

A Uniformly Convergent Galerkin Method on a Shishkin Mesh for a Convection-Diffusion Problem

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1997
Two results on convergence uniform in the singular perturbation parameter are given for a singularly perturbed linear elliptic boundary value problem in two dimensions. Their error bounds are of order (i) \((\ln N/N)\) in a global energy norm and (ii) \((\ln N)^{3/2}/\sqrt N\) pointwise near the outflow boundary.

Superconvergence Using Pointwise Interpolation in Convection-Diffusion Problems

open access: yes, 2013
Considering a singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problem, we present an analysis for a superconvergence result using pointwise interpolation of Gau{\ss}-Lobatto type for higher-order streamline diffusion FEM.

A numerical comparative study for the singularly perturbed nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integro-differential equations on layer-adapted meshes

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
This article deals with the singularly perturbed nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integro-differential equations. Firstly, some priori bounds are presented.

A Non-Standard Finite Difference Scheme for Time-Fractional Singularly Perturbed Convection–Diffusion Problems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper introduces a stable non-standard finite difference (NSFD) method to solve time-fractional singularly perturbed convection–diffusion problems. The fractional derivative in time is defined in the Caputo sense.

Investigation of a Two-Grid Method of Improved Accuracy for the Elliptic Reaction–Diffusion Equation with Boundary Layers [PDF]

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2015
A two-grid method for the elliptic equation with a small parameter ε multiplying the highest derivative is investigated. The ε-uniformly convergent difference scheme on the Shishkin mesh is considered.
