Temporal shifts in antiretroviral therapy regimens and metabolic outcomes in people living with HIV: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Antiretroviral therapy (ART) for people living with HIV has led to dramatically reduced mortality and improved life expectancy. This achievement is accompanied by a higher risk for metabolic and other non‐communicable diseases. The role and contribution of various ART regimens to adverse metabolic outcomes are not fully understood.

Differences in HIV testing may determine the first pillar of the HIV care continuum in a cross‐border setting

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction In border regions like the EuRegio Meuse‐Rhine (EMR), mobility does not stop at the border. HIV risk may therefore not only be determined by within‐country factors but also by between‐country differences. We explored between‐country differences in HIV indicators in the EMR using two complementary data‐driven approaches.

Taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity patterns of Saturniidae moth communities along a tropical forest recovery gradient in Ecuador

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Diverse Saturniidae moth communities are found in naturally recovering tropical forests in Ecuador. Community composition showed a gradual turnover with strongest differences between old‐growth forest and active agriculture, but only weak differences in taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity. While our results suggest that Saturniidae are not

Autoimmunity and Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
In a microbe‐driven inflammatory environment, peptidyl‐arginine deiminase (PAD) enzymes from neutrophils and Porphyromonas gingivalis citrullinate both microbial and self‐antigens. B cell presentation of citrullinated or self‐mimicking epitopes activates T cells that assist B cells in antibody isotype switching, affinity maturation, epitope spreading ...

Step by step: Floral structure and developmental changes to the formation of the gynostegium in Apocynaceae s.l.

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Developmental changes in Apocynaceae s.l. reveal progressive reductions in the corolla tube and epipetaly, together with increased staminal tube formation, highlighting shifts in floral integration associated with gynostegium evolution and organization.

Electrochemical Detection of Heavy Metal (Pb Ions) and Pharmaceutical Waste (Ciprofloxacin) in Very Low Concentration Using β‐NaFeO2

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Organic and inorganic pollutants detection in waste water using β‐NaFeO2 and inorganic pollutants detection in waste water using β‐NaFeO2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical techniques as a point of care analysis are drawing the researcher's attention, especially in the case of heavy metal ions (HMIs) detection. In this research, β‐NaFeO2 was synthesized using a

Immune, molecular and genetic profiles of gastric signet ring cell carcinoma: Recent progress and future challenges

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 1, Page 11-29, 1 July 2026.
Abstract Gastric signet ring cell carcinoma (GSRCC) is a special type of gastric cancer common in young women. Diffuse gastric cancer (DGC) begins with intramucosal lesions comprising differentiated GSRCC cells. Genetically, GSRCC and DGC are clonally identical, with their morphology influenced by extracellular Wnt signaling.

Digitisation of herbarium specimens to the benefit of research: An African perspective focusing on South Africa and Western Indian Ocean Island states

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 4, Page 1042-1056, July 2026.
Botanical exploration, discovery and conservation rely heavily on access to herbarium collections. Recently, digital access to label information, including georeferenced locality data, and images of herbarium specimens available online have greatly increased usage of herbarium specimen data.
