Adverse Prognostic Significance of Activation‐Induced Cytidine Deaminase in Diffuse Large B‐Cell Lymphoma Patients Treated With R‐CHOP

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background A number of studies have demonstrated the important role of activation‐induced cytidine deaminase (AID) in the pathogenesis of diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL). AID has been relatively underexplored as a prognostic factor in DLBCL, and its role remains controversial.

Unfavourable H‐CDR3 Loops in preB Cells Lead to Highly Expanded Plasma Cell Clones

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 5, May 2026.
In the absence of a pre‐BCR, a subset of mature B cells that expresses IgH chains with very short, hydrophobic and positively charged H‐CDR3 loops is generated. This results in massive clonal expansion and the development of autoreactive plasma cells exhibiting these characteristics.

Acceptability and Preferences of Long‐Acting Injectable Pre‐Exposure Prophylaxis and Antiretroviral Therapy Among Men Who Have Sex With Men and People Who Inject Drugs in India: Insights for Future Implementation

open access: yesJournal of the International AIDS Society, Volume 29, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Long‐acting injectable (LAI) antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre‐exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) have significant potential to impact the HIV epidemic, but there is little data on the acceptability of these newer technologies among people who inject drugs (PWID) and men who have sex with men (MSM) in low‐resource settings.

Identifying the Initiation of a New Line of Therapy for Metastatic Lung, Breast, and Colorectal Cancer in Real‐World Data: A Scoping Review

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to identify and synthesize published algorithms for identifying the initiation of a new line of therapy (LOT) for metastatic lung, breast, and colorectal cancer in real‐world data (RWD). Methods We conducted a scoping review of published, English‐language studies describing algorithms for identifying any LOTs with ...

A Case of Sepsis Caused by ST80 Multidrug‐Resistant Enterococcus faecium With Concurrent Klebsiella pneumoniae Infection in a Dog

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
An 8‐year‐old dog developed acute respiratory distress that progressed to sepsis and death. Multidrug‐resistant Enterococcus faecium ST80 was isolated from the liver and kidney, while Klebsiella pneumoniae was detected in the lung by PCR. Whole‐genome sequencing showed that the ST80 isolates were genetically identical, suggesting hematogenous spread ...
