Constrictive Pericarditis as a Rare Manifestation of Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Graft‐versus‐host disease (GVHD) is a serious inflammatory complication that can arise after allogeneic transplantation, characterized by donor T‐cells attacking the recipient's tissues. While cardiac complications are infrequent, they are more commonly observed in cases of chronic GVHD and may manifest as pericardial effusion, cardiac ...

Perinatal Enterovirus Infection in Neonates: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Enteroviruses (EVs) are a common cause of neonatal infections, and perinatal EV infection can lead to severe neonatal disease, including sepsis‐like presentations, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, a comprehensive understanding of the prevalence and clinical manifestations of perinatal EV infection is lacking.

The impact of blood pressure targets on venous return physiology during post cardiac arrest care

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 69, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract Background Venous return (VR) physiology may be elucidated using a calculated mean systemic filling pressure analogue (Pmsa) that reflects the stressed intravascular volume. The aim of this study was to explore differences in VR physiological variables with the hypothesis that vasopressor therapy targeting a higher mean arterial pressure (MAP)

Clinical and Electrocardiographic Characteristics in NSTEMI Patients With Acute Total Occlusion of Culprit Left Circumflex Artery

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 30, Issue 3, May 2025.
The LCX is the most prevalent culprit vessel with acute complete occlusion in NSTEMI patients, yet it has little effect on clinical outcomes. This subset of patients may be predicted by STV5 + STV6 ≥ 2.5 mm and T‐wave imbalance. ABSTRACT Background Complete blockage of the culprit coronary artery is associated with 30% of NSTEMI (non‐ST‐segment ...

Early Albumin Administration in Veno‐Arterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

open access: yesArtificial Organs, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 872-879, May 2025.
A total of 660 patients received VA ECMO support (66.4% eCPR). Three different volume resuscitation strategies were employed. The Crystalloid group received balanced crystalloid volume substitution. In the Albumin group, a 1:4 volume mixture of albumin and balanced crystalloids (10 g/L) was used.
