An experimental documentation of a hypersonic shock-wave turbulent boundary layer interaction flow: With and without separation [PDF]
An experiment, thoroughly documenting the flow field resulting from the interaction of a shock wave with a nonadiabatic hypersonic turbulent boundary layer, is described. Detailed mean flow and surface data are presented for two shock strengths resulting

Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Influence of the shock wave-turbulence interaction on the swirl distortion in hypersonic inlet
This study uses the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) technique to conduct an exhaustive analysis of the flow characteristics within the Rectangular-to-Elliptical shape Transition (REST) inlet under Mach 6 conditions.

Band‐tail and deep trap states are effectively disentangled through the use of selective alkylamine additives. PA‐driven 2D ordering narrows band tails, while HA enhances halide passivation and Pb coordination to suppress deep traps. A comparative study of their CQD short‐wave infrared (SWIR) photodetectors further reveals whether band‐tail states or ...

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Large-Eddy Simulation of Axisymmetric Compression Corner Flow [PDF]
The Wall-Modeled Large Eddy Simulation (WMLES) approach is used to study the interaction of a shock wave with a high Reynolds number turbulent boundary layer. Since the near wall region is modeled, high Reynolds number turbulent flows can be simulated at

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.
