Experimental and numerical study of oscillating transonic shock waves in ducts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An experimental and computational study of a Mach 1.4 transonic shock wave in a parallel-walled duct subject to downstream pressure perturbations in the frequency range of 16–90 Hz has been conducted.

Research on Shockwave/Boundary Layer Interactions Induced by Double Compression Corners Under Hypersonic Quiet and Noise Inflow Conditions

open access: yesAerospace
The problem of shock wave/boundary layer interaction induced by compression corners widely exists in the external and internal flows of various supersonic/hypersonic aircraft.

Some models of shock-boundary layer interactions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1989
We propose and study several models that describe the asymptotic nature of the interaction between a shock layer and a boundary layer. In particular, we show that an impinging shock can thicken a boundary layer at the point of intersection.

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

Suppression of Low-Frequency Shock Oscillations over Boundary Layers by Repetitive Laser Pulse Energy Deposition

open access: yesAerospace, 2016
The effect of repetitive energy deposition on low Strouhal number oscillations of the shock wave induced by boundary-layer interaction over a cylinder-flare model was studied.

Characterization of an Injectable Poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin Hydrogel for Growth Factor Delivery in an Orthopedic Application

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

Shock-boundary-layer interaction in flight [PDF]

open access: yes
A brief survey is given on the study of transonic shock/boundary layer effects in flight. Then the possibility of alleviating the adverse shock effects through passive shock control is discussed.
