Can Opacity of a Credible Central Bank Explain Excessive Inflation? [PDF]
Excessive inflation is usually attributed to the lack of central bank’s credibility. In this context, most of the literature considers transparency a means to establish central bank’s credibility. The contribution of this paper is twofold.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Impact of solar-wind turbulence on a planetary bow shock
Context. The interaction of the solar-wind plasma with a magnetized planet generates a bow-shaped shock ahead of the wind. Over recent decades, near-Earth spacecraft observations have provided insights into the physics of the bow shock, and the findings ...

On the scaling of entropy viscosity in high order methods
In this work, we outline the entropy viscosity method and discuss how the choice of scaling influences the size of viscosity for a simple shock problem. We present examples to illustrate the performance of the entropy viscosity method under two distinct ...

Constraining Relativistic Bow Shock Properties in Rotation-Powered Millisecond Pulsar Binaries [PDF]
Multiwavelength followup of unidentified Fermi sources has vastly expanded the number of known galactic-field "black widow" and "redback" millisecond pulsar binaries. Focusing on their rotation-powered state, we interpret the radio to X-ray phenomenology

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Predictive model of back-wall overpressure behind a cantilever wall
To reduce the hazards posed by blast shock waves, important potential targets are usually shielded by cantilever walls. The main factor that indicates whether there is damage is the back-wall overpressure, and of concern here is predicting the back-wall ...

Monetary Policy And Aggregate Demand In India: An Analysis Of Post-Reform Period
This study attempts to quantify the influence of monetary policy on aggregate demand in India during the economic reform period (1998-2019). The New Keynesian approach is adopted as the framework for the study. The structural vector auto regression model

We present a nonlinear Monte Carlo model of efficient diffusive shock acceleration (DSA) where the magnetic turbulence responsible for particle diffusion is calculated self-consistently from the resonant cosmic-ray (CR) streaming instability, together ...
