Abstract Laser shock peening is a well-known surface treatment process that dominates other modern surface treatment processes. Though several materials are investigated to enhance mechanical properties by LSP treatment, only a scarce number of studies have concentrated on Low Pulsed Laser Shock Peening (LPLSP) without an ablative layer ...

Influence of energy parameters of shock pulse generator on the pipe penetration velocity in soil
Journal of Mining Science, 2014In the context of the problem of increase in efficiency of vibro-percussion driving of steel pipes in soil, a pilot model of shock generator with step speed adjustment for the bit and anvil impact is described. The authors report experimental modeling of pipe penetration depending on load of stalk.

Action of the Pulses of Shock Waves on the Structure and Superconducting Parameters of MgB2 Tapes
Journal of Surface Investigation: X-ray, Synchrotron and Neutron Techniques, 2018The possibility of increasing the critical current of MgB2 tapes containing carbon and oxygen additives under the action of shock waves produced by pulsed plasma in a Plasma Focus setup is demonstrated. The microstructure of the tapes and the chemical composition of superconducting layers in the initial state and after impact at different distances ...

Abstract This paper proposed a highly accurate nonlinear dynamic model and parameters identification method to predict the shock pulses generated by rubber waveform generator (RWG) used in shock test. The establishment of the model is based on the primary results of the Duffing equation, Pan-Yang model and empirical stiffness formulae of cylindrical ...

The features of laser shock peening technology was studied in relation to the physical processes occurring during and after laser treatment. The effect of laser parameters on the results of the process was investigated. It was shown that the reduce of the diameter of the laser spot while maintaining the intensity leads to a decrease in the effect of ...

The results of experimental studies on shock wave propagation in plexiglass are discussed. The wave was generated by a single laser pulse of 3 ns and 30 ns duration and of energy from 2 to 30 J. The characteristics of velocity variations of shock wave front propagation are presented in this paper.

The Twinheads extracorporeal shock wave lithotriptor (THSWL) is composed of 2 identical shock wave generators and reflectors. One reflector is under the table and the other is over the table with a variable angle between the axes of the 2 reflectors. The 2 reflectors share a common second focal point, making it possible to deliver an almost synchronous

The characteristics of a dual-pulse shock caused by an UNDEX (underwater explosion) are described through many standards. Shock signals required to evaluate the survivability of equipment by a shock test machine are also described. To generate various types of shock signals described in the standard, Shock test machines (STMs) require adjustment to ...
