Characterization of electron beam generated in ignitor-plasma interaction of shock ignition concept [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2015
Generally, laser ignitior parameters in shock ignition concept are above the threshold for laser-plasma instability and therefore are prompting the generation of fast electrons.

Parameters Affecting the Transient Response of an Impacting Beam

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2013
Impact causes shock waves that may be unexpected and damaging. A computationally efficient impact model with a generic beam which is discrete in time and continuous in space was undertaken; an Euler-Bernoulli beam with adjustable boundary conditions and ...

Prompt high-energy emission from gamma-ray bursts in the internal shock model

open access: yes, 2009
The prompt GRB emission is thought to arise from electrons accelerated in internal shocks propagating within a highly relativistic outflow. The launch of Fermi offers the prospect of observations with unprecedented sensitivity in high-energy (>100 MeV ...

Power Density Spectra of Gamma-Ray Bursts in the Internal Shock Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We simulate Gamma-Ray Bursts arising from internal shocks in relativistic winds, calculate their power density spectrum (PDS), and identify the factors to which the PDS is most sensitive: the wind ejection features, which determine the wind dynamics and ...

Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Prediction of Shock Wave Velocity Temporal Evolution Induced by Ms-Ns Combined Pulse Laser Based on Attention-LSTM

open access: yesPhotonics
This study systematically examined shock wave velocity induced by millisecond–nanosecond combined-pulse laser (ms–ns CPL) at a fixed ns laser energy density of 6 J/cm2, exploring the effects of varying pulse delays of 0 to 3 ms and ms laser energy ...

The compensatory reserve index predicts recurrent shock in patients with severe dengue

open access: yesBMC Medicine, 2022
Background Dengue shock syndrome (DSS) is one of the major clinical phenotypes of severe dengue. It is defined by significant plasma leak, leading to intravascular volume depletion and eventually cardiovascular collapse.

Spatiotemporal Plasma–Mediated Laser Fabrication of Ultrahigh‐Aspect‐Ratio Nanochannel Arrays for Vertical Perovskite Nanowire Semiconductor Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spatiotemporal plasma–mediated laser processing approach is developed to fabricate ultrahigh–aspect ratio nanochannel arrays and corresponding perovskite nanowire arrays within transparent materials for optoelectronics devices. The laser‐fabricated nanochannels serve as templates for controlled perovskite infiltration and crystallization, enabling ...

Solitary versus Shock Wave Acceleration in Laser-Plasma Interactions

open access: yes, 2011
The excitation of nonlinear electrostatic waves, such as shock and solitons, by ultraintense laser interaction with overdense plasmas and related ion acceleration are investigated by numerical simulations.

Electro‐Active Polymer Actuated Microfiltration Membranes: Design, Performance, and Particle Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The concept of foulant particle manipulation and detachment from active microfiltration membranes via voltage‐driven vibrations is introduced. Actuator components are initially integrated onto the filtration membranes using an airbrush spray printing technique.
