Falls and Nursing Workload in Hospitalized Older Adults With Delirium: A Controlled Trial of 3D‐Radar‐Based Bed‐Exit Monitoring Versus Contact Mat

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
Using objectively verified fall data in hospitalized patients with delirium, a contactless three‐dimensional radar‐based bed‐exit monitoring system was associated with fewer bed‐exit‐related falls and lower bed‐exit‐related nursing workload than an analogue contact mat.

Psychometric properties of the Seattle–Groningen Memory Assessment in healthy adults

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Brief assessments are increasingly important for scalable and accessible measurement of cognitive function. The Seattle–Groningen Memory Assessment (SGMA) is an accessible memory test that quantifies individual differences in the speed of forgetting through a computational model.

Inflammatory and Immunological Basis of Periodontal Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.

Cross‐Sectional Studies: Strengths, Limitations, and Methodological Considerations

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Cross‐sectional studies measure variables at a single time point to estimate prevalence and support descriptive epidemiology ‐ characterizing population health, tracking trends via repeated surveys – and for developing and validating screening instruments and diagnostic models.
