Shock dynamics of strong imploding cylindrical and spherical shock waves with non-ideal gas effects
In this paper, the generalized analytical solution for one dimensional adiabatic flow behind the strong imploding shock waves propagating in a non-ideal gas is obtained by using the geometrical shock dynamics theory.

Detonation driven shock wave interactions with perforated plates [PDF]
The study of detonations and their interactions is vital for the understanding of the high-speed flow physics involved and the ultimate goal of controlling their detrimental effects.

The hidden science of haptics: A pedagogical review of tactile evaluation in cosmetics
This review explores the physiological basis of tactile perception and critically examines classical and emerging sensory methods used in cosmetics, advocating for broader methodological integration and recognition of sensory analysis in the field. Abstract Sensory analysis is a cornerstone of cosmetic development, yet remains underrepresented in peer ...

A Multidimensional Relativistic Hydrodynamics Code with a General Equation of State
The ideal gas equation of state with a constant adiabatic index, although commonly used in relativistic hydrodynamics, is a poor approximation for most relativistic astrophysical flows.

An HLLC Riemann Solver for Relativistic Flows: I. Hydrodynamics [PDF]
We present an extension of the HLLC approximate Riemann solver by Toro, Spruce and Speares to the relativistic equations of fluid dynamics. The solver retains the simplicity of the original two-wave formulation proposed by Harten, Lax and van Leer (HLL ...

Abstract We evaluate whether deposit insurance (DI) promotes liquidity by influencing depositor behavior. We use the postal savings (PS) system and state‐adopted DI schemes during the 1920s to examine the effect of bank suspensions on PS deposit growth in pairs of border cities (DI versus non‐DI).

Abstract We analyse the behaviour of multinational enterprises (MNEs) within a host nation – Australia – during deglobalization (1914–79). Deglobalization is often portrayed as a drastic event to which MNEs respond swiftly, probably through withdrawal from host countries.

Asymptotic self-similar solutions with a characteristic time-scale
For a wide variety of initial and boundary conditions, adiabatic one dimensional flows of an ideal gas approach self-similar behavior when the characteristic length scale over which the flow takes place, $R$, diverges or tends to zero.

Abstract This study investigates how small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) respond to deglobalization and economic nationalism, using historical evidence from fascist Italy, a period of autarky and restricted international trade. While prior research has focused primarily on larger firms, especially multinational enterprises (MNEs), the strategic ...

Shock waves driven by the release of energy at the center of a cold ideal gas sphere of initial density rho\propto r^{-omega} approach a self-similar (SLS) behavior, with velocity \dot{R}\propto R^delta, as R->\infty. For omega>3 the solutions are of the
