Is the whole story of coastal change being told by 2D shoreline erosion rates?
Shoreline location has often been gathered from orthoimagery to assess the 2D planimetric erosion or accretion and thereby is used as proxy for coastal evolution and to manage coastal environments. Missing in the 2D measures of shoreline location are the

Factors influencing wintering turfgrass field use in Atlantic brant
Atlantic brant Branta bernicla hrota increasingly use turfgrass fields, such as baseball fields and golf courses, throughout their wintering range. Most studies have focused on their primary food source, submerged aquatic vegetation, while studies of other goose species worldwide have examined field use in different contexts, including agricultural ...

Mobile consumers influence the shoreward edge of intertidal seagrass ecosystems
Ecological paradigms suggest that the environmentally stressful edge of a habitat is determined by physical factors. The work finds that, counter to these paradigms, an environmentally stressful edge can also be impacted by biotic interactions and are more complex than suggested.

Coastal ecosystems provide critical ecological, economic, and socio-cultural services but are increasingly threatened by coastal erosion driven by natural processes and anthropogenic pressures. Along Ghana’s central coastline, persistent shoreline change

Over the last 25 years, perceptions of the early prehistory of Northwest Africa have undergone radical changes due to new fieldwork projects and a corresponding growth in scientific interest in the region. Much of this work has been focused in Morocco, known for its extremely rich fossil and archaeological records in caves and rock shelters.

300 Years of Degradation in Wales Estuaries and Coasts
ABSTRACT The world's oceans are in a severe state of degradation, yet our understanding of that degradation is often based on changes observed only in the past 20–50 years. This narrow view leads to marine conservation efforts that aim to preserve already degraded ecosystems, shaped by shifted ecological baselines.

Coastal salt farming in the Global South is mainly situated in in low-lying intertidal plains, where shoreline migration and morphodynamic variability can quickly manifest as a loss of productive space and disruption of salt-pan infrastructure.

Graph‐Laplacian modeling of spatiotemporal effects for house price estimation
Abstract Many variables involve the modeling of spatial effects, and their dynamics over time. This article presents a linear model in which spatiotemporal random effects are modeled by graph‐Laplacians. A graph‐Laplacian flexibly encodes adjacency in both space and time, in our case not depending on unknown parameters. The graph‐Laplacian can be input

Spatial and temporal scales of the morphodynamic evolution within the Studland complex. [PDF]
This research has analysed the large sandy beach at Studland Peninsula over a range of spatial and temporal scales, recording a range of geomorphic features and the processes by which they evolve.

Shoreline Community College Biotechnology Skill Standards
Shoreline is highly regarded for the college's work on biotechnology skill standards. In 2000, Shoreline worked with local industry to develop a widely-used set of skill standards. These skill standards were updated in 2007, together with Shoreline
