Multidecadal Shoreline Changes in Denmark
Journal of Coastal Research, 2013ABSTRACT Kabuth, A.K.; Kroon, A., and Pedersen, J.B.T., 2014. Multidecadal shoreline changes in Denmark. Multidecadal shoreline changes along ca. 7000 km coastline around Denmark were computed for the time interval between 1862 AD and 2005 AD and were connected with a geomorphological coastal classification.

Shoreline Change Model: A Review
2021Coastal regions are complex and underrated environments with vast variability of processes, source causing erosion, accretion, and shoreline evolution every year. To reduce the future changes in shoreline and coastal environment models are developed by different approaches, suited timescales, and incorporation of parameters responsible for the change ...

This paper investigates physical, analytical, and numerical models used for shoreline change modeling. The equilibrium beach profile, longshore sediment transport, and the effect of structures on shoreline are also discussed.

Digital Analysis of Shoreline Change
New Zealand Geographer, 1995ABSTRACTThis paper examines the potential of digital mapping techniques for the analysis and mapping of shoreline change. The discussion is illustrated through a case‐study of the coastal environment of TePuru in the Coromandel Peninsula.

Impacts of Dredging on Shoreline Change
Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, 2004Nearshore dredging for construction aggregate or beach nourishment can result in a perturbation of natural littoral processes, changes in wave transformation patterns, and a net loss of sand from the littoral system. A method is described for estimating both direct and indirect effects of dredging on shoreline change.

Coastlines are dynamic features that change shape and position on a range of timescales. As a result of this variability, many coastal communities in Alaska must carefully consider patterns of coastal erosion and/or accretion to appropriately plan for the future.

A coastal erosion model to predict shoreline changes
Measurement, 2014Abstract Coastal erosion is a natural phenomenon affecting a growing number of worldwide sites. The impact of the waves on coast is cause of debris removal and soil erosion. The effect depends on wave strength, action time, and wave direction. In literature, several models have been proposed to estimate the mean rate of sediments moved annually ...

Abstract Here we present shoreline change rates for the beaches of southeast Oahu, Hawaii, calculated using recently developed polynomial methods to assist coastal managers in planning for erosion hazards and to provide an example for interpreting results from these new rate calculation methods.

Coastal Erosion and Shoreline Change
2014This entry broadly addresses the causes of and responses to coastal erosion and shoreline change. Three major causes of shoreline change are examined in detail: sea level change, storms and waves, and sediment supply and transport. The history of both postglacial and recent global sea level change is discussed, and factors that influence relative sea ...
