Short‐ and long‐term performance in manufacturing SMEs

International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, 2004
Contrary to popular belief, managing short‐term performance differs significantly from managing long‐term performance. It is not an extension of short‐term performance over a longer‐term time frame. This paper examines the steps of managing performance from the context of organisational factors.

Short- and Long-Term Performance Feedback and Absorptive Capacity

Journal of Management, 2012
Research on organizational learning from performance feedback has produced findings on how organizational change is influenced by performance relative to aspiration levels, but has focused on short-term goal variables. In this article, we examine how short- and long-term goals are related to short- and long-term actions, respectively.

Short- and long-term electrical performance of the 5086MRI pacing lead

Heart Rhythm, 2014
Owing to potential patient harm, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices has traditionally been contraindicated. Following the EnRhythm MRI SureScan Study, an MR conditional pacemaker with modified leads was approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Short- and Long-Term Spatial Delayed Response Performance Across the Lifespan

Developmental Neuropsychology, 2004
Delayed response paradigms have been used to examine the neural basis of short and long-term memory in humans. However, limited information exists on how delayed response performance changes across the lifespan. Using a well-validated spatial delayed response (SDR) task, we examined performance at short and long delays in over 300 control participants,

Leading Indicator Variables, Performance Measurement and Long-Term versus Short-Term Contracts

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2003
ABSTRACTIn this article we develop a multiperiod agency model to study the role of leading indicator variables in managerial performance measures. In addition to the familiar moral hazard problem, the principal faces the task of motivating a manager to undertake “soft” investments.

Disruptive Peers and Academic Performance: Short- and Long-Term Outcomes

SSRN Electronic Journal
How do disruptive peers shape academic and career paths? We examine this question by leveraging the random assignment of students to classrooms in Greece and identifying the effects of peer disruptiveness on academic performance and career paths. Using suspension hours as a measure of disruptiveness, we find that students assigned to more disruptive ...

Short-term and long-term performance of electrolytic capacitors

Microelectronics Reliability, 1978
Abstract Short-term tests under temperature ranging from −30°C to 90°C and under voltage ranging from 3 V to 12 V (rated voltage) have been conducted on electrolytic capacitors to find out the extent of change in the performance parameters. The change was only temporary and there was complete recovery.

Short- and long-term cost and performance optimization for mobile user equipments

Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, 2021
Abstract Task offloading strategy optimization in mobile edge computing (MEC) has always been a hot issue. However, the mobility of a user equipment (UE) seriously affects the UE’s cost and performance. This paper proposes three mobility types depending on whether the mobility characteristic of a UE is known, and formulates an energy minimization ...

Short and Long-Term Performance of Eco-Efficient Concrete Mixtures

2023
Concrete is the most widely used construction material worldwide, yet, it presents major sustainability drawbacks due to the CO2 released during the manufacturing of its main constituent, cement. Several approaches are used to improve concrete’s eco-efficiency and reduce the binder intensity index, a metric used to measure the eco-efficiency of ...
