Short-Circuit Calculations for Multiline Switching and End Faults

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1970
In the short-circuit study of a network with mutually coupled lines, complications in calculation are introduced by the consideration of line removals, additions, impedance changes, and end faults. The modification of Z-bus terms to include these network changes is facilitated by the new algorithms presented in this paper.

A review on turn-turn short circuit fault management

2015 International Conference on Electrical Systems for Aircraft, Railway, Ship Propulsion and Road Vehicles (ESARS), 2015
Permanent Magnet (PM) machines are increasingly being used in safety critical systems in aerospace and automotive applications. In such applications, reliability and availability are key concerns. Numerous works have been presented in literature which take into account both system reliability and availability in the event of single fault within the PM ...

Short circuit tests for detection of high impedance faults

18th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 2005), 2005
This project presents a summary of the tests realized with equipment, with the purpose of detecting the high impedance faults that occur in the electrical systems, and also the researches done to evaluate the status of the art of equipment and/or processes used to detect the high impedance faults of the electrical energy distribution system. During the

Short-circuiting techniques to deactivate a generator after a fault

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1952
This paper presents a method for protecting an aircraft self-excited d-c generator after either a full-field short-circuit fault or a generator feeder fault has been detected. Protection is afforded, regardless of whether the fault occurs inside the machine or externally. It is also applicable to other types of faults. The method consists, essentially,

Simulation of Short-Circuit Fault Occurring on Subway Train

2018
Recently, with the large-scale development of subway, the safety of subway operation is attracting universal attention of the society. A short-circuit fault is a serious accident that threatens the safety of subway operation. The existing research focuses on the short-circuit fault occurring on the overhead line, but research on the short-circuit fault

Fault diagnosis with short circuit for linear analog networks

1991 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 1991
A novel method to prepare the fault dictionary for the short circuit faults in linear analog networks is proposed. In this method, the whole dictionary can be made with computational complexity O(n/sup 3/), where n denotes the number of nodes in the network.

Short Circuit Fault Tolerant System for Matrix Converter

8th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2016), 2016
The paper proposes a short circuit fault tolerant system for the conventional Matrix Converter (MC) to increase the immune capability of the MC against short circuit fault. In this paper, the short circuit fault in semiconductor switching device such as IGBT is analysed. When the short circuit fault arises, it is quickly detected, then IGBTs are softly
