Recursive short-term load-forecasting algorithm
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1974The problem of forecasting the integrated-load demand of an interconnected power system is studied. It is proposed that the harmonic-series model for the weekly load pattern be expressed in the state-variable form. This then permits the use of Kalman-filtering techniques, for load-prediction purposes.

Short Term Load Forecasting Using XGBoost
2019For efficient use of smart grid, exact prediction about the in-future coming load is of great importance to the utility. In this proposed scheme initially we converted daily Australian energy market operator load data to weekly data time series. Furthermore, we used eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) for extracting features from the data.

Interactive short-Term Load Forecasting
1982The general objective of planning in power system utilities is to ensure a secure and economic energy supply. The prediction of the load curve, usually for one or more days in advance provides the basis of the short-term operation planning.

A neural network short-term load forecaster
Electric Power Systems Research, 1994Abstract This paper presents a neural network based approach to short-term load forecasting, which plays an important role in the day to day operation and scheduling of power systems. A four-layer feedforward neural network, trained by a back-propagation learning algorithm, has been applied for forecasting the hourly load of a power system.

Fuzzy approach for short term load forecasting
Electric Power Systems Research, 2006Abstract The main objective of short term load forecasting (STLF) is to provide load predictions for generation scheduling, economic load dispatch and security assessment at any time. The STLF is needed to supply necessary information for the system management of day-to-day operations and unit commitment.

Short Term Load Forecasting Based on Bayesian Forecasting Model
2020 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Smart Grid (ICWCSG), 2020Short term load forecasting plays an increasingly important role in Smart Grid. Short term load forecasting is also an important part of enterprise power system management. Providing accurate load time series data for a certain period of time in the future can enable enterprises to ensure the smooth operation of production while making a reasonable ...

ANN-Based Short-Term Load Forecasting
2018Load forecasting is a very crucial issue for the operational planning of electrical power systems. In the sixth chapter, it is formulated that a reliable power network along with load prediction models is essential for uninterrupted supply of electrical energy to the consumers.

Kernel Regression Based Short-Term Load Forecasting
2006Electrical load forecasting is an important tool in managing transmission and distribution facilities, financial resources, manpower, and materials at electrical power utility companies. A simple and accurate electrical load forecasting scheme is required. Short-term load forecasting (STLF) involves predicting the load from few hours to a week ahead. A
