Short‐term scheduling with machine calibration
International Transactions in Operational Research, 2021AbstractIn most of the past research on scheduling, it is conventional to model machine deterioration by decreasing production speed over time. However, as is observed, there is a fair number of scenarios in practice where deterioration has a little impact on machine speed but a great impact on production accuracy and a machine is unusable unless it ...

Issues on Short-Term Scheduling of Oil Refinery
2006 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2006In practice, the short-term scheduling job of oil refinery processes is still done manually by planners, because of the lack of such tools. This paper briefly reviews the theoretic research advancement in this field. It shows that although some progress has been made, the techniques obtained are not applicable in practice.

Short-term scheduling of active distribution systems
2009 IEEE Bucharest PowerTech, 2009The latest distribution management systems tend to incorporate optimization functions for the short-term scheduling of the various energy and control resources available in the network (e.g., embedded generators, reactive power compensators and transformers equipped with on-load tap changers). The short-term scheduling procedure adopted in the paper is

Optimal Short Term irrigation schedules
Transactions of the ASAE, 1983ABSTRACT Amixed-integer optimization model is developed which provides scheduling guidelines for surface irrigation systems over one to two week forecast periods. The primary objective of the model is to minimize labor costs under limitations in available water, while assuming fields are irrigated before crop damaging stress occurs. The model is linked

Short term generation scheduling of a Microgrid
TENCON 2009 - 2009 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2009Microgrids are low voltage intelligent distribution networks comprising various distributed generators, storage devices and controllable loads which can be operated as interconnected or as islanded system. The optimal generation scheduling is one of the important functions for the Microgrid operation.

Short term scheduling in cogeneration systems
[Proceedings] Conference Papers 1991 Power Industry Computer Application Conference, 2002Combined generation of power and heat offers great economic advantage and serves the requirements of environmental conservation. However, the operation of such integrated cogeneration systems is a complex problem because the demand for power and for heat must be satisfied simultaneously with regard to many different constraints.

Short-term scheduling of microgrids in the presence of demand response
2017 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe (ISGT-Europe), 2017In this paper, operation management of microgrids is performed. To do so, some contingencies including outage of distributed generators (DG), energy storage (ES) and the upstream network are considered. Since the microgrids have suitable capabilities in terms of control and communication, demand response reserve can be applied to improve the operation ...
