Short‐term scheduling with machine calibration
International Transactions in Operational Research, 2021AbstractIn most of the past research on scheduling, it is conventional to model machine deterioration by decreasing production speed over time. However, as is observed, there is a fair number of scenarios in practice where deterioration has a little impact on machine speed but a great impact on production accuracy and a machine is unusable unless it ...

Optimal Short Term irrigation schedules
Transactions of the ASAE, 1983ABSTRACT Amixed-integer optimization model is developed which provides scheduling guidelines for surface irrigation systems over one to two week forecast periods. The primary objective of the model is to minimize labor costs under limitations in available water, while assuming fields are irrigated before crop damaging stress occurs. The model is linked

Short-term scheduling of active distribution systems
2009 IEEE Bucharest PowerTech, 2009The latest distribution management systems tend to incorporate optimization functions for the short-term scheduling of the various energy and control resources available in the network (e.g., embedded generators, reactive power compensators and transformers equipped with on-load tap changers). The short-term scheduling procedure adopted in the paper is

Short-term environmental/economic hydrothermal scheduling
Electric Power Systems Research, 2014Abstract This paper proposes a new technique based on lexicographic optimization and ɛ-constraint method to solve the combined economic emission scheduling problem of hydrothermal systems comprising several equality constraints as well as non-equality ones. The hydrothermal scheduling problem is modeled as a multi-objective problem with two objective

Short term multi-objective hydrothermal scheduling
Electric Power Systems Research, 2015Abstract This paper investigates the short-term environmental/economic hydrothermal scheduling problem. The multi-objective optimization framework is proposed to model the Short-term Hydro Thermal Scheduling (SHTS) problem, while two competing objective functions are supposed to be minimized, simultaneously.

Short term scheduling in cogeneration systems
[Proceedings] Conference Papers 1991 Power Industry Computer Application Conference, 2002Combined generation of power and heat offers great economic advantage and serves the requirements of environmental conservation. However, the operation of such integrated cogeneration systems is a complex problem because the demand for power and for heat must be satisfied simultaneously with regard to many different constraints.

SHORT-TERM SCHEDULING OF CHEMICAL PROCESS INCLUDING UNCERTAINTY
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006This paper addresses the scheduling of chemical process with uncertainty. A multiobjective robust optimization method is proposed to identify Pareto optimal solutions, where normal boundary intersection technique is utilized to trace the Pareto optimal surface in the objective space.

Short-term resource scheduling with ramp constraints [power generation scheduling]
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1997This paper describes a Lagrangian relaxation-based method to solve the short-term resource scheduling (STRS) problem with ramp constraints. Instead of discretizing the generation levels, the ramp rate constraints are relaxed with the system demand constraints using Lagrange multipliers.
